  4. Why is Firefox 115 ESR no longer being served on https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/desktop-esr/ like Fx 115.15.0esr and earlier was even though Fx 115 ESR is being supported till Fx 115.21.0esr in March 2025 at minimum for the Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and macOS 10.12-10.14 users.

One has to now download from say https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/115.16.0esr/

  5. Also updating Fx 115.15.0esr and Fx 115.16.0esr as a user on an OS that supports 128 will give you 128.3.0 and not keep you on the 115 ESR branch, so if you would want to keep using Firefox 115 ESR for some reason and not switch to 128 ESR, then you need to install the full 115 ESR version.

  6. I have an old Windows 7 (64-bit) laptop and only 128.3 is offered on the https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/desktop-esr/ download page. However, If I go to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/windows/ (the download page linked from the How to install Firefox on Windows article for the online Firefox installer) it tells me that Firefox is no longer supported on Windows 8.1 and below and to download Firefox Extended Support Release. The Firefox ESR download link goes to https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-esr115-latest-ssl&os=win64&lang=en-US

When I try that link on Windows 10, I get the full off-line setup file, Firefox Setup 115.16.0esr.exe

In case it also helps others, the Install an older version of Firefox article has a Directory of other versions and languages link that goes to https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/ ... where you will find a link to Dir 115.16.0esr/

The problem with this link is it may default to serving you the Win64 version if it does not recognize the persons is using 32-bit Windows 7, 8, 8.1. due to UA having a more generic fingerprint in showing Win64; x64 in Firefox 115.0 UA on Windows.

  8. The https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/windows/ download page detects your useragent and serves the appropriate Firefox version. I have the User-Agent Switcher extension installed in Firefox 131 on Windows 10. I changed my useragent to Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 10.0; Windows NT 6.1; Trident/5.0) for 32-bit Windows 7 and here is the link I got to download Firefox ESR 32-bit: https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-esr115-latest-ssl&os=win&lang=en-US

P.S. The download page shows whether you are getting the Windows 32-bit or 64-bit version of Firefox ESR, as shown in this screenshot: DownloadFirefoxESR32-bit

    When I use a UA like Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 10.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/5.0) for 64-bit Windows 7, I get the Firefox ESR 64-bit download.

  11. just updated to Firefox 131.0(64 bit) on a Linux Fedora 40 system. On restart I have found all the passwords missing. The bookmarks are all present and the few I checked are working. Not sure what I should be looking for to try and recover the passwords.

    Thanks G

You should post a thread for Firefox support in the (desktop) Firefox support forum section by using https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new/firefox/form

This https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/ section is more for discussing of things related to the support.mozilla.org site itself.

Not that I'm aware of. Let me ask the team and get back to you when I know more.

  18. I just updated the 131 wiki recently with another incident related to ETP involving multiple banks bug1923500. We posted the interim solution from our official support account on X.

Another notable update is that we'll revert the "List all tabs" icon back with bug1923367. The fix will go out in 131.0.3.

More info should be on the wiki.
