Hey folks,
Mozilla recently announced that we're going to experiment with our own fediverse instance at Mozilla.Social. This opens up new opportunity for support to expand our presence. To prepare for this opportunity, we would like to hear your feedback on this.
Right now, the SUMO team own 2 Twitter accounts: @SUMO_Mozilla and @FirefoxSupport. As a bit of a background story, the first one is an old account that we use to communicate contributor news, but we used to lose access to that account for awhile before regain the access back recently. While we lose access to the first one, we created another account (@FirefoxSupport) that is focus more on user support rather than the community side.
With this opportunity, I'd like to discuss a few points:
- Do you think it's necessary to separate community account from user support account?
- What do you think of the handle we need to secure at Mozilla.Social? As a placeholder, I already secure what we currently have (@SUMO_Mozilla & @FirefoxSupport) in addition to @MozillaSupport. However, with the unique structure of how handle is being handled with instance name in the fediverse world, this is our opportunity to rethink how we'd like to present ourselves in this new space.
Looking forward to hearing what you think of this!
