Firefox for iOS 1.1 released globally today.

  1. Hello !

I'm very happy to announce that today we launched Firefox for iOS 1.1 globally. Until today Firefox for iOS 1.0 was only available in Australia, Austria, Canada and New Zealand. Today 1.1 is available in all of the countries that Apple has an iOS app store except China. The current plan is to release in China once we have a Firefox Sync server in China.

Thank you to all the localizers who helped us get the content ready. Support forums are also live in English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.

As always, please let me know if you have any iOS questions or post your questions to this thread.

Congrats to all and a big thanks to everybody who helped with the launch!

    Cheers!

  2. Woo-hoo! I played for 20 minutes but am having trouble wrapping my head around it completely, probably because I'm not an iOS person at heart.

One odd thing is that I don't have the private browsing icon on my tabs list on an iPad. This was a headline change in version 1.1 and is shown briefly in the introductory video, so I'm confused by this.

  3. Private browsing mode is only available on iOS 9. Maybe your iPad hasn't been updated?

  4. Thanks Mike, I was waiting for a good reason to update and now I have one. ;-)

That is something important we should call out, Firefox for iOS really should be run on the latest version of iOS, there are odd things that happen if you don't update iOS. For some users this may be a source of confusion.
