New SUMO Day today, February 12

    Hi everybody!

    We're organizing a new SUMO Day today! The etherpad and blog post a re up

    So, please try to help answer support forum questions if you have the time! I'll try to be available on IRC if you need an admin and guigs2 will be available during US Pacific time zone. Also please post links to difficult questions in #sumo or on the Support Contributors forum so the backline helpers can research them.

    We're also looking into restructuring SUMO Day a bit (updating some documentation, processes etc) so we could use your help if you have any ideas on how to improve! Here's a few things we're looking at:

    • How much in advance should this be announced?
    • What other channels could we use besides blog and contributor forums?
    • Should we make it a 24 or 12 hour event (start on EU mornings and continue all through US Pacific evenings?)
    • What new information should be added to the etherpad?
    • Should we have some type of instant notification like the former IRC bot?
    • Any other thoughts?

    How much in advance should this be announced? - I'd say a week or more in advance so that we make plans to attend. Taking into account that some SUMO members are in different timezones, this will give them time to plan for this.

    What other channels could we use besides blog and contributor forums? - We could use email broadcast and this would reach more people. If i'm not wrong, not all members are able to come to SUMO on a daily basis but the possibility of them reading their mails in a few hours are high and therefore we'll achieve a good number of participation.
