[Retired] New Contributors

(Obsolete) Find a buddy to mentor you in supporting Firefox etc users

  1. This forum is for new contributors to find a friendly buddy to guide them at SUMO*

    * SUMO is SUpport.MOzilla.org

    It is where you are now

    Whilst logged in more useful and introductory information is available from the drop down Contributor Tools v at the top of the page. If you have not already done so you may want to at least glance at some of the articles before asking anything

    Helping Users on the support forum. We should certainly be able to try to pair you with a buddy for the first project on the list above. That is the main purpose of the forum you are in now. Trying to pair up new contributors for one to one mentoring. Because we already have masses of help articles and all try to help one another you should soon pick things up, and quickly find your way. You may even then want to join in yourself and share you new found knowledge not only with users who are in trouble but also with the new contributors following in your footsteps.

    For the other ideas on the list. We may not be able to get a specific named person to help you over an extended time period, but we can very definitely point you at the relevant help articles and try to answer any questions you have about getting started. We can explain where and how to get further help if you need it.

    We can also point to other areas of Mozilla where you may be interested in contributing

    If you are interested in helping I suggest you tell us

    • Your username in the forum and IRC (if you use it)
    • Your location and time zone
    • What you are interested in doing at SUMO (Do any of the activities above sound interesting ? )
    • Do you already use Mozilla Software ?
    • How did you find out about Mozilla ?
    • Something interesting about yourself

    Please use this link to post more information in your own thread
