Hi, I did something stupid. I accidentally deleted an entire year's worth of emails. I was in the process of archiving them, and mistakenly thought that the originals had been left in the inbox. I thought I needed to re-archive them, so I deleted the copies from the archive folder, and then - this is the stupid part - emptied the trash in the archive folder. When I went back to the inbox to re-archive the emails, I realized they were no longer there. I have not compacted the folder. Is there any way to recover the deleted emails?
Sir/Ma'am, I have an email that will not delete or move in my inbox. What do I need to do to delete or move email to trash?

A NEW EMAIL (brand new, or in a thread) should (obviously) generate the same optical indicator -- BOLD.

I'm really mortified at how this company presents itself as "a family" of "volunteer friends and community members" who are "happy to share their time" to "kindly solve the issues [we] have" when the reality is that everyone knows Thunderbird is broken, buggy, Windows Vista-tier technology maintained by a corporation actively pushing AI companions on its browser users but legions of Reddit upvotes and moderation manipulation obfuscate the level to which the client:
-fails to retrieve emails -fails to adjust to user settings -is obtuse and difficult to understand -is easily compromised by manipulative technology (BitDefender STILL has "administrative control" over Thunderbird MONTHS after being totally removed from my PC and after numerous "fixes") -fails to connect to the internet itself, despite all other programs on the PC doing so -fails to operate on even the level of the old, now-sunsetted Windows Mail program
And the responses to these grievances are condescension and gaslighting that demonstrate why the stereotype of programmers as "divorced men in their 50s" exist. I have seen people accused of "being angry," "making problems where there are none," and "misunderstanding" Thunderbird. If users do not understand Thunderbird or your documentation... that is because YOU have failed to properly DOCUMENT or present its UI/UX features, and shows YOU are poor programmers with overinflated egos.
Honestly, I sincerely hope Mozilla was purchased secretly by a crypto scheme or something. Because if these are the same people, all along? The sheer small amount of power it takes to corrupt is so pathetically small to me that this isn't even a villain arc, it's like seeing someone take a collection plate and just hold on to it and claim it was a master plan.
Go FireFox yourselves.

It crosses the text out BUT does not delete any emails. Similarly emptying the spam folder is supposed to happen off the right click context menu. Nothing happens except last entry is highlighted.
Ideally I want to select a group of emails in the inbox with the find option then ctrl/A to select them all then delete key to clear them from the inbox. NB. None of these emails are still on the server, just in thunderbird.

Hello there, I have troubles signing into my email account on Thunderbird. I have a new laptop, therefore installed the program again, as I used it on my old laptop too. When I wanna sign up my email though, it gives me an error message that reads "Anmeldung auf dem Server fehlgeschlagen. Eventuell sind Konfiguration, Benutzername oder Passwort nicht korrekt". I'm writing in English here, since the Support site won't allow me to use the German site for whatever reason. Finding this contact form was also hard. Anyways, the German text translates roughly into "sign in didn't work, probably configuration, user name or password are incorrect". My password is correct, my e-mail is correct, I double and triple checked. It wants a full name from me. My mail account is from t-online and doesn't have a user name. So I entered my full name. Didn't work. I entered my t-online user ID, didn't work. I used only my first name. Didn't work. I tried out both IMAP and POP3 configurations, both lead to the same error message. According to my t-online account, IMAP is supported. One more thing: Before selecting IMAP or POP3, I received the message that my data was in fact found in the Mozilla ISP data base. Please help. Thanks!
