Thunderbird worked well on windows 10 until the first of this year. When I write an email or re-send (some) emails, the email shows up with a lot of the letters garbled like code. Also a number of *s at front and end of sentences. All three of my computers are suffering the same maladies. All windows 10, Norton, Malware, same problems. I have tried every change that I am allowed on Thunderbird, and have use the compact function and repair folder function, to no avail.

Is it possible the problem is related to a problem with Thunderbird and ATT or Comcast, or my modem/router?

Yahoo Acnt. #1 messages being duplicated in Yahoo Acnt. #2 in Thunderbird ONLY

I have tested, and tested and tested. Checked settings EVERYWHERE. Delete and removed, reinstalled, etc. etc. etc.

Additionally, Thunderbird will NOT retrieve inbox messages from YAHOO for account #2

I have DETAILED (including screen captures) the conditions in a document and made it available here.

It was barely noticable, but SERVER NAME in Server Settings was the same for both accounts. These were Yahoo IMAP accounts. Each account had its own folder in Users / ....... / ImapMail, but both accounts were pointing to one folder. Corrected this in the SERVER NAME field in Server Settings (see image)

"SHOULD" solve the issue .......... particulary it is THE ONLY item I can find that was not normal.

Cox just transferred all customers' email systems to Yahoo. After my e-mails were transferred to Yahoo, Yahoo tried to help me when I was getting error messages saying that log in to server smtp.mail.yahoo.com with my user name (my e-mail address) failed. The Yahoo rep told me that my problem is that "Whenever the generated app password from Yahoo is entered, sending emails works, but it only stays like that until the computer gets restarted. The app password is not saved." The rep told me that many Thunderbird users who had their email systems transferred to Yahoo are having the same problem. Has anyone had this problem and been able to resolve this problem? Thank you! Cyd
