When I try to forward email with attachment. I get a error message stating I dont have access for the attached file so every time I have to remove the attachment in the email and download the attachment from original email and attach to my email. Which is frustrating and time consuming process.

What I thick is there is storage path issue with my email setup.

Please assist to resolve this issue.

I already have View > Sort by > Date is selected, View > Sort by > Descending selected, and thread sorting set in settings. See screenshots. Threads sorting so newest is at the bottom, they should be at the top. General emails are sorting properly, newest at the top.

I’m looking for card body previews in the message list/card view, similar to seeing a short preview of the email body under the subject/sender. Is this feature currently available anywhere in Thunderbird?

If not, is it planned, and is there any estimated version or timeline for when it may be added?

I was wondering if there is a way to easily copy a saved search from one parent folder to another. I have searches I use to c apture emails for tax purposes. I use dates, subject lines, etc. to capture these emails and I have almost a dozen per tax year. It would be nice to copy my 2025 saved searches to my 2026 folder, and then just edit the dates as needed to capture the correct year. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Is there a spam file for thunderbird? I haven’t been able to find one. Xfinity has a spam box on my site. I had mail sent to me and could not find them on thunderbird or Mac mail but I Katerina found them in the xfinity spam folder..

Why does every time TB updates it cause all my Yahoo accounts force me to get new passwords? Is it TB or Yahoo that is creating this problem of me having jump through hoops just to get the accounts working again. BTW the passwords in TB don't work when this happens.

Either this get resolved or I stop updating TB.

Subject: Persistent Column and Folder Layout Issues — Not Being Saved Between Sessions

This is a follow-up to my previous support requests regarding two ongoing problems that significantly impact daily usability.

Column Settings I manage multiple accounts, and my preferred column layout is: Starred, Read Status, Attachment, Subject, From, and Date/Time. I do not use Threads, Correspondents, or Spam Status columns. Despite setting these preferences repeatedly, Thunderbird fails to retain them. Every day I must spend time reconfiguring columns across some or all of my accounts — the state varies unpredictably from one session to the next. This is a persistent, daily frustration that costs meaningful time. Most other major email clients save and reliably maintain column preferences. I'd expect Thunderbird to do the same.

Folder Panel Layout Two problems occur regularly when Thunderbird loads:

Folder order — Standard system folders (Inbox, Sent, Drafts, All Mail, Trash, Spam) should appear at the top of each account. Instead, Sent, All Mail, Trash, and/or Spam are frequently scattered among custom folders, with no apparent consistency.

Folder expansion — Most or all folders load in an expanded state, exposing every nested sub-folder regardless of whether they contain unread mail. This creates unnecessary visual clutter and requires manual collapsing each session.

Again, this behavior is uncommon in other widely-used email clients. Summary These are not one-time glitches — they recur daily and represent a significant usability gap. I'd appreciate confirmation that these are known issues being tracked, or guidance on a reliable fix. Reformatting the interface every morning is not a reasonable expectation for users.

When I highlight multiple messages for deletion; it can take up to a minute to respond; when I am working with gmail or proton, the deletion is immediate. When I am accessing Reagan with browser, the multiple deletions are also immediate. Appears to definitely be a handoff issue. Suggestions? I use Thunderbird on 2 win11 os and 2 linix mint 2.1 machines. I only delete and store to local on one machine (win11) ver/build 23H2: 22631.6199.

Hello, I face a problem with my email provider. I received an email and I can see 2 dates-hours in the emails platform of my provider (coprmail Cosmote, Athens, Greece). Specifically, 111:24 am and 12:06 pm. In Thunderbird, for the same email account, the column Date shows the value 12:06 pm. This caused other problem. In search I made, in the emails platform of my provider, for the same email, I have 11:24 am and in the preview window of the body of the email shows 12:06 pm. In my question to the provider, why this happened, I received the answer that the message received at their email server at 11:24 am, and the other date, 12:06 pm is the hour that the sender sent the email. I can understand that the PC of the sender could had wrong date+hour, but what is happend with thunderbird? So, my question to the community is: In the table list of emails in Thunderbird, the column Date what does it mean? I am waiting for receiving your reply. Over the last week or so, I have received an enormous amount of scam, but no matter how many times I "train" the filter, it doesn't work.

I have just received another 3 from this site: mid:02guhjkj6-ABMcSHN6Or-JiC-000000@eu-central-1.amazonses.com, which claim to be from Madasafish Security>security@qi9adgongzenElptrum.de

I have tried on several occasions to follow the manual instructions how to deal with the spam, but I find it so log-winded that my non-techie brain, which is not wired for these kind of things, gets tired and I give up. If anyone has a more intuitive approach how to deal with this, I would be very appreciative. I have marked sites multiple times as spam, but the spam control ignores me!

I use Thunderbird with my Jubii mail and lately, every time I try to send an email, Thunderbird wants my password to my email address in order to send he mail. How do I make it so that I won't have to reenter my password every time I send an email?

SIMPLIFY THUNDERBIRD IT IS EXCESSIVLY COMPLEX. I CANNOT EVEN SEE HOW TO MOVE MESSAGES FROM THE INBOX TO THE RELEVANT FOLDER IN MY LIST. How I could terminate the search when it has reached the end of the e-mail, and not just tell me "reached end of page, continued from top", a message that is so obscure and — if the window is quite narrow — will not even show.

Why I cannot select to get a pop-up note telling me I've reached the end of e-mail and ask if I would like to continue from top?

I have 3 email accounts which i unified. when log in I get prompted to enter password for all three accounts which I do, then I get prompted again to enter the password to all Password Manager to save my passwords which I do not want and therefore I uncheck it for all three; I then get prompted again for all three which I enter password, then I get imap login error on my main account which I click cancel a few times before it goes away,

I use Thunderbird portable. How do I fix this issue. it should be that one enters the password for each account once not three to four times. I do not want to use Password Manager to Save my accounts.

Also if ever I have to change password how do I do that? thank for your help.
