Hi there, it seems I'm suffering from the same problems as others in several countries. I have also not been able to access my gmx.com account via Thunderbird for about a week now. I live in Belgium and use a Proton VPN, in case this is relevant. I can't find how to delete cookies in history, nor any other potential solutions to the problem. Thunderbird stopped syncing with my GMX email accounts (I have several) a couple of days ago. It keeps reporting that the attempted connection has timed out. I haven't changed any settings on either Thunderbird nor GMX. Any idea why and how to fix it?

Just updated to TB release 128.14.0.esr. Win 11.

The QuickFilter "light" - that shows I have turned on "show only unread messages", or "show only starred message" etc... no longer shows that the filter is selected. Before updating the button would show a color (blue) to indicate that I had selected one of them. Not a major flaw, but less convenient. Any suggestion on how to restore??

I have set up 2fa with my email provider (email is rdoty@gmx.com) and set an app-specific password for Thunderbird. Gmx also supports OAuth2. I have reset the passwords in Thunderbird to the app-specific one and confirmed that both ends accept cookies. The SMTP server is mail.gmx.com, port 465. Connection security is SST/TLS. The IMAP email is IMAP.gmx.com. The problem is that Thunderbird does not change Authentication Method to OAuth2. When it queries GMX it always times out or is refused. What am I missing or needs to be changed?

I've noticed a problem in which I delete emails in the Trash folder using the Empty Trash command. The folder appears empty for a while, then when I go back later to delete any new files from the Trash folder, many of the emails I've already deleted are present again. Suggestions on how to completely delete emails in the Trash folder would be appreciated.

Hi!

I am trying to help my mom transfer her e-mail from TB installed on a Windows 7 PC to a Windows 10 PC.

I have exported her old e-mails from TB using the ImportExportNG add-on as an Inbox file with the folder structure preserved. However, when I try to import that same Inbox file into TB on the W10 machine, TB will not recognize that file and import it, no matter what settings I choose for the import.

Anyone have any idea what might be going wrong?

I opened up Thunderbird on my MacBook and downloaded my Thunderbird account but it did not copy those local folders, merely 1 empty folder. I have been using Thunderbird with two POP3 Hotmail accounts for some time and I am trying to set up a third account with exactly the same configuration. However, both the automatic and the manual configurations failed. The new account receives mail, but the outgoing smtp server config seems to have a problem. Sending messages times out or keeps prompting for a new password.

The Hotmail account has POP3 and IMAP enabled. Thunderbird is set to receive all cookies. I cleared history and cache after every attempt and also temporarily disabled the firewall.

Any suggestions about what the problem could be?

Attached is what Thunderbird is doing. If you look at the enclosed attachment you'll see two emails. One is for yahoo.com and the other is for my gmail.com accounts. Yahoo is in black and gmail is in red. Why is this?

How can I fix it? The 2nd problem as you can see is the spacing on my emails are double space. How do I make them single space?

Cannot access Tbird on PC, but have done so using Outlook; and Tbird Outlook & Samsung mail on mobile. Gmail: some new messages and those quite old are accessible. See Screenshot. iinet: nothing accessible. See Screenshot. The password used to access on webmail works there but is not working in Tbird on thePC. Three technicians have attempted and myself have attempted to rectify. A primary password was used earlier, this has been unsuccessfully tried. It isn't required now. I fear this may be the problem but don't know how to rectify.

Attempting to set up a yahoo email in thunderbird 140.9.0esr(64-bit). The goal is to have this set up on multiple workstations, so I've made the adjustments recommended per this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-yahoo#w_please-check-the-following-before-asking-for-support

So, the toggle for mailnews.oauth.usePrivateBrowser is set to true, site/third-party cookies are always allowed (no exceptions), and the authentication method is set to OAuth2. Using the recommended server settings for yahoo: imap.mail.yahoo.com : 993 smtp.mail.yahoo.com : 465

I am able to set up the initial OAuth. The window pops up, I log in using the account password then put in the texted code, then the window closes and I get an email confirming the login. Hitting done within Thunderbird after this has it check the password again, and it fails: "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password."

This is on a fresh Windows 11 install/fresh Thunderbird install.

My email account is set up with 2fa with an app-specific password for Thunderbird. I manually updated all the info in Passwords, but TB still won't connect. Under Setup it keeps saying "Authentication failed: Check username and password" but both are entered correctly. Under "YourLogin", I have re-entered two different formats but still fails. I also set the SMTP server settings to match email account.

  I've been fighting this for too many hours.  Can somebody help me get connected?
