I would like to setup Thunderbird as my email client.My email service is provided by Godaddy with an Outlook account. When I am at the incoming server settings, it has my domain name, not smtp.office365.com which I tried with both authentication options (below) and with my domain name, the protocol was IMAP. I changed the port from 143 to 993. I changed security from Autodetect to SSL/TLS. For authentication, there was not an OAuth2 option, I tried Autodetect and Normal password, neither worked. And I used my domain email password. with using my domain name, it came back with an error an suffixed my domain name with :110. It stated that this was not the correct domain and there was a security issue. It is not clear how I should progress.

I installed Thunderbird. Added 3 email accounts successfully. 4th one glitched and sent me down a rabbit hole.

The 4th email address appears on my list but I get an error message.

Login to server imap.mail.yahoo.com with username ______@yahoo.com failed.

rentitnow@mail.com was able to be accessed thru Thunderball. BrianKrantz@mail.com says wrong credentials. I know for sure the credentials are correct. They use the identical port. What can be done?

hi, i am trying to remove an email account from Thunderbird app that i added but the "Delete" button in account settings isn't working at all! when i click it nothing happens. i select the account but when i click the delete button nothing happens

I want to delete an account.

When I go to the account (which is not the default btw) and I click the red "Delete" button, nothing happens. No dialog, no nothing. I could click it all day, it's just a button. The click handler for it is clearly not working. It's either trying to call the wrong method, or the method is erroring out. It's just a button, being clicked.

Is there a way to manually delete an account from my Thunderbird without trying to use this **very clearly broken** button?

I have version 156. There is no account actions button so there is no "remove account" interface any longer. I have searched the internet high and low already and am at my wits end on this.

It really should be as easy as "Click the Delete button under Account Settings and then click confirm."

I've also seen several other people online post this exact same issue without resolution. What's up?

If you don't know the answer, please don't waste my time with "maybe this" or "maybe that" answers.

How do I access the notification messages so I can post them here? Because there is like 12 or more a day on each machine from multiple accounts.

I got one that mentions restricting the number of concurrent threads using the IMAP interface but no clue as to how to restrict TB from making multiple requests from multiple accounts to the same server at the same time.

hello togehther, im using thunderbird for over ten years. In all that time i never deleted my trash, because it was very helpful to have acess to all the mails and data

this morning there was the notice that there is not enough space to get the new mails from the server, so i started to delete some of the oldest mails.

since then i don´t know why, the programm is very slow when you delete a mail, it takes ca 5 seconds to work again. the delete mails can not be found in the trash and all the old deleted mails can also not be found in the trash

also thunderbirds often hangs up now an needs a restart.

there is a file trash.sbd with 1,7 GB but theres also a file only named trash which has 17 GB so i think the mails are still there

Hi, Will there ever be a functioning option to set up a primary password that aborts the start up if not provided with the correct password. Still in 2026, hitting cancel gives access to all already synced emails. Please, soon!

i have an account that runs through gmail. survey@cornerstonels.net I switched to my sons laptop because for some reason AMD Ryzen chips seem to run my drafting/engineering software better. I was always able to make thunderbird work and it worked great. since this new version with the "account hub" I can't get it to connect to gmail. i have tried at least 10 different times with the correct settings a couple of times and different settings the others. I donate because thunderbird works so well. Please help. I wish i could just download an older version of thunderbird without the account hub. I'm trying to remove a couple accounts that I no longer use in Thunderbird. A window keeps popping up asking for a password, but the mail service is no longer available. When I click on the red delete button for that account, nothing happens. I've deleted all the mail in one of them which I was able to do as I thought I might need to do that first, but I still can't delete it after that. The other one won't even let me delete the emails. How do I delete these so I stop getting asked to put in a password for accounts that are no longer valid and I don't want anymore?

As background, I recently migrated to Thunderbird and imported a very large number of e-mails. The issue, however, is in regard to a new e-mail that was downloaded yesterday.

The new e-mail was downloaded in a normal fashion, but when I went to look for the e-mail in the Inbox, it was no longer visible in the (although I had not moved it or deleted it).

Running a search on the sender's name finds the e-mail. It is in a thread of 6 or 7 e-mails. The search shows the e-mail is located in the Inbox, however a sort by sender name in the Inbox does not reveal the e-mail.

In the search result, I starred the e-mail (it is the only starred e-mail in my e-mail database), but a search of all my e-mail folders shows no starred e-mails at all.

I also went through all my folders and moved all e-mails into the "read" status, then found the lost e-mail using the search function and marked it as unread.

The Inbox folder shows that I have one unread e-mail in the folder, however when I filter for unread e-mails, the results are zero.

My local telephone company updated their webmail. Now I can't send or receive emails. I called support and they wanted me to change some outgoing , and incoming server settings. I can't find the incoming server, was able to change settings on outgoing server.

As an 80 year old female gifted with good health, fairly intelligent and a competent driver still able to work I have always struggled with 'AI' as I spent 19 years as an artificial inseminator of cows when computers were only just being invented! I cannot remember how I joined and am happy to pay to continue although I have limited means. Could a human advise me please............

I belong to a group which need to receive a report to the whole group on a regular basis. How do I do this? The Mozilla instructions don't seem to apply to Firebird and have instructions which don't work on Firefox version 115.18.0

I keep getting the following error when trying to download emails from yahoo.mail: Authentication failure while connecting to server pop.mail.yahoo.com Have hundreds of emails sitting in yahoo.mail that I need to load onto my desktop. Any help is appreciated!

Hi I have just set up AOL accounts for 3 email addresses on Thunderbird. I have set them up as pop accounts and each account can receive emails and send emails ok but the really strange thing is they won't send from one AOL email address to another AOL email address which is something we quite often do as as family. All have pop.aol.com and port 995 along with smtp.aol.com and port 465. Hopefully someone will know what is going on.
