Hello, I'm attempting to add one of my google accounts to the server. After Google prompts me to authorize Thunderbird to gain access to some of my data, when I click Accept, I get a 502 Bad Gateway nginx/1.29.8 Error. I checked my Thunderbird settings and I confirm that I had Accept all cookies toggled on. Also, I added Thunderbird to my laptop's Firewall and added an exception to accept all incoming connections. I tried going through the process with a VPN, but still no luck.

My inbox Sub Folders have disappeared on one computer only (Windows 11) And, only one email account. Apparently the emails they contained are still there but not visible.

Problem noticed 4/28/26, am using ExpressVPN and Malwarebytes. I tuned off the vpn = no difference. I do not want to turn off my anti virus. ISP = Zianet. TBird V 149.0.2 as of my previous problem restoring TTrash. I do not know if there is a new version since I cannot open

I’m an assistant and would like to send emails on behalf of my manager to lighten her workload. I can access her account, but I can’t send emails. What settings do I need to adjust to make this work?

Hi. Since the last 2 updates, my Bell sympatico email through T-bird cannot SEND anymore emails (No errors are given but the email never comes through). I can receive emails without issue and when I use another tool (like Outlook or go directly through my browser, the sympatico emails come through) I attached the settings for the SMTP in a screenshot if that could help.

Any idea how to fix this?

Dragging and dropping multiple local folders has worked for quite some time now. But recently (since last week?) I can no longer do that. I am forced to drag single folders. My workflow requires the ability to drag multiple folders often during the day so this is a great inconvenience.

I am currently using V150.0 64 bit on a desktop running Windows 11.

Suddenly when I try to send a message I get the following error:

Connection to server smtpauth.earthlink.net:587 failed.

I have not changed any thing. I've looked at solutions on the Thunderbird forum but I didn't find a solution.

I tried to send an email to 12 recients and got a message "to many recipents"; I tried just onerecipient and got the same message. I went to my provider Iprimus' webmail and all was sent.

I have a desktop with thunderbird. It has worked fine for years. I have a new laptop. I have loaded thunderbird. It will send emails but not receive via my gmail.com. account If I "subscribe" it just goes away and does not down load the folder list I have compared the settings between the two computers and they seem to be OK I have noticed CGV has just had a similar problem with two POP3 Hotmail accounts. Hello. Impossible to connect to an existing Google account. Neither to the "full" account, nor to the Contact list nor to a Calendar of an existing account. Neither to a "private" account, not to a "workspace".

When trying to connect to a Contact list, after the Oauth window and the authorisation to share data from Google accounts, the app answer "Connexion impossible" (I am a French user).

When trying to connect to Calendars, Google's window asking authorisation to share data comes back after clicking "authorise".

I'm concerned I've got my Junk set up so that TB is not actually learning what is spam, plus spam is not easy to delete.

First question. What is putting [SPAM] in headers before emails arrive? Is it SpamAssassin? I use my own website/email address and my host uses Spam Assassin. My host in addition has their own native Bayesian spam, but that would use *****SPAM***** headers and I never get these.

The problem is this. Most junk arrives marked [SPAM] but doesn't go in the Junk folder, which is the only folder with one-click Empty Junk. So I have filters set up to direct headers with [SPAM] in into the Junk folder.

(i) the [SPAM] arrives in the Junk folder not marked as Junk even though the filters are carefully set up to "Set Junk status to: Junk"

(ii) it doesn't seem possible to bulk mark the contents of the Junk folder as Junk. If I click the flame icon in the header row once, then all the flame icons are switched to not-Junk as expected. But if I click it again then only some, not all, are changed back to Junk. IE completely different from normal all-off/all-on conventions.

(ii) some [SPAM] ends up in the Spam folder despite the filters. This looks like pure filter failure.

The goal is the get all the [SPAM] messages in the Junk folder along with the Junk the TB itself puts there, so (a) I can delete them with a single click plus (b) all marked as Junk so the TB is learning from the [SPAM] emails.

How can I do that please? What am I doing wrong?

I’d like to request a feature for Mozilla Thunderbird on Ubuntu/Linux:

A native system tray (AppIndicator) integration with the ability to: • Run in the background without keeping a window open • Minimize to tray instead of the taskbar/dock • Option to start minimized to tray on system startup • Show unread mail count directly in the tray icon

Right now, users rely on third-party tools like Birdtray, which work but feel like a workaround rather than a seamless experience. A built-in solution would improve usability significantly especially for those who prefer a clean desktop while keeping Thunderbird always running in the background. I think this feature would bring Thunderbird closer to the behavior users expect from modern messaging/email clients on Linux desktops. Would love to see this considered in future updates!

i used the new feature to add my icloud calenders to thunderbird. that works fine. But the existing icloud Birthday calender was not separately choosable and dose not appear in thunderbird. what do do? Thank you!!

When receiving signed AND encrypted mails from an Outlook-account I get the exclamation sign for the signature.

The message is (German) : "Digitale Signatur ist ungültig Diese Nachricht enthält eine digitale Signatur, die aber ungültig ist. Die Nachricht wurde mit einer Verschlüsselungsstärke signiert, die von dieser Version Ihrer Software nicht unterstützt wird. Signiert von...."

I already did all standard checks (trusted, new hash algorithm and so on),

Now I would like to know the EXACT reason why Thunderbird is not accepting the digital signature. How can I accomplish this?

As of April 4 midnight my yahoo account in Thunderbird just stopped receiving incoming pop messages nor can I send. According to Yahoo, it showed that Thunderbird had access. Thunderbird showed how many new messages to download, but then does nothing but hang and time out. I have removed all stored yahoo passwords; I have removed yahoo permissions in yahoo in order to start over. I get the normal log in screens to add permission with oauth2, signed into yahoo account in yahoo and it shows thunderbird has access, yet Thunderbird still can NOT access yahoo mail (download pop or send smpt). YES MY SETTINGS are correct. They haven;t change since before April 4 midnight. I need this account active again. HELP!!! email to X@hotmail.com with Yahoo in the subject line: According to THunderbird, I have version 140.9 esr. when I press check for updates it says I'm up to date. Although the yahoo help page says as of March 2026 version 148. confused. Bill

When bulk selecting and deleting, sometime columns don't match rows. eg: subject doesn't match correspondents (sometime additional random contacts are added to correct correspondant) and message panel may not match highlighted "subject" email.

Been using for years...love the product. But this is a new quirk. I have noticed, when I have done hundreds of bulk deletions, deleted messages will be added back in inbox??

First, let me describe the configuration I have been using successfully for two decades -

I am on the latest release channel release with a POP3 configuration.

I keep the message store on my file server and have Tbird installed on it and my laptop. The file server is a Win 11 machine as is my laptop. Each machine points to the message store (including the config file) on the file server.

Of late, every time I try to use Tbird on the file server, I get "You have launched an older version" message. So far reinstalling and pointing to the existing message store works.

But I am getting bored with having to reinstall every time, and I suspect this will eventually break completely.

Is there a way to stabilize this?
