Hello Guys; Since ages I use Mozilla email product (started with Navigator...). And I only use POP3 accounts so I've a lot of emails stored on my computer. Fine. I've imported my settings into Thunderbird for Android with success but this leave the data behind. How could I store my email folder on my phone and where to put it ? Many thanks in advance for your help and have a nice and bright day.

I exported my settings from desktop thunderbird when setting up Thunderbird Android 20 but discovered it was automatically marking messages as read. That makes it difficult to have a peek at messages when I'm out (in case there's something urgent) but still see those messages as unread when I return to the desktop.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1504592 claims to have found the option to do that, but it's an old message that has been archived without ever saying where that option was found. I've tried settings search as well as a visual search of all settings without seeing a relevant option.

Does that option actually exist? Or do I have to go back to K9 (which, at least in v19, had that option)?

My email provider sometimes fails to send mail, so I find the mail that didn't send in the sending box (发件箱; I don't know the name in English), use the "edit as new mail" option in the mail 3-dot menu (there's a pencil icon on the top of the screen, but it has no reaction) and tap send button again. I find that every time I do this, the mail's sender identity is reset to the default identity.

I know my Thunderbird version is not latest and is beta, but I'm hesitant about updating. Is it a bug or designed behavior?

Steps to reproduce: 1. Turn off your device's network. 2. Compose and send a mail with an identity that's not the default. 3. Find the mail in the sending box, and choose "edit as new mail". 4. Hit send button. 5. View mail in sending box, it now uses the default identity.

I have TB for Android set up and working. This is a lw end tab for my needs away from home.

I have set up mail identities as well as signatures fo r3 accounts I am working with for personal, hobby, and business. So far it is working fine.

However, today I attempted to add a second identity to one of the Gmail accounts which TB on my Windows 11 system allows, but on the Android version it is not allowing a 2nd identity on any of the accounts.

Is this a bug or something reserved for the premium, version. There is no pop up or other indication telling me otherwise. The "Save" icon is just grayed out. I also scanned this forum and was not immediately able to get anything on this item.

I just downloaded your app (thunderbird) to download some important emails for my lawyer about my SSDI case.

I moved all of the ones I needed to a folder of their own.

I went into your app, found them and apparently clicked something that made them all disappear, it was not "delete" or the trashcan icon.

I've googled and everything I read tells me to go to the trash folder. I do not have a trashcan folder.

Please help.

I have been using Thunderbird almost 30 years.

I have Thunderbird Windows 10 desktop most recent version: 140.12.1esr (32-bit) and Android Thunderbird version 20.1

I have successfully installed a couple of gmail accounts using the QR code. Trying to install other email accounts, I only see the outbox, not any of the message folders.

Is there some trick I am missing here?

Hello, redminote 12 pro 5G (hyper OS 3.03.0) has permission to use the camera. but when I want to scan the QR code generated by Thunderbird on PC, nothing happens. However, I did manage to import my accounts on a Xiaomi tablet. An idea or an alternative for transferring the accounts? Thank you in advance for your help. PS: My PC is running Linux mint, does it make a difference?

On my Samsung A05 Thunderbird does not show received email dates only the day. This is useless for finding emails going back more than a week or two. I don't care what day of the week it was received, just the date and time. Earlier solution offered (via message lists) not in any of my menus so cannot use. Please advise how to show dates. Current OS Android 15 A055FXXSHDZF1/ A055FOJMHDZF1 / A055FXXSHDZF1 with security patch level: 5 June 2026 Also cannot find support/about option in the settings menu to show the Thunderbird version.

It has happened to me multiple times that when trying to scroll (esp in the bus) it registers as a swipe & deletes a message.

and then it's really hard to scan the trash to figure out which message it was

at the same time, i don't want to be asked for confirmation *every* time i delete something - I'll spend as much time "confirming" as deleting messages.

So the ideal in an undo button somewhere in the interface where a can undo the last action (from a subset, since I'm guessing not every action can be undone). The desktop version has it, hopefully it can be migrated to the android version.

When incoming mail arrives I get a notification sound on the phone which is fine. But when I'm connected to Android Auto the notification sound doesn't play through either the phone or the car speakers. Other apps such as Signal and WhatsApp play the notifications in Android Auto. Only Thunderbird doesn't.

How can I make Thunderbird play the notification the same way it does when not connected to Android Auto. Nothing seems to be blocked in the notification settings for Thunderbird.

The phone is a Pixel 10 Pro BTW.

An unusual situation. I have 2 email addresses--one is a "comcast.net" address (imported via Yahoo), the other is a "gmail.com" address. Emails from BOTH addresses show up in the UNIFIED EMAIL FOLDER. The "Gmail" email ALSO shows up in the "GMAIL EMAIL FOLDER"....but the "Comcast" emails DO NOT SHOW UP IN THE "COMCAST" EMAIL FOLDER.

I've been unable to locate a previously asked/answered question on this issue. Help appreciated.

Yesterday I wrote a comment about the Thunderbird app and support asked me to submit a report. I then received an email telling me to open a ticket—I honestly don't know how—or to send an email. Here's my problem:

1) The most serious issue is that push notifications aren't working as described. Specifically, I disabled battery restrictions, selected the primary account, went to folder management, and enabled push notifications in the inbox. I tested it by sending an email, and everything worked perfectly. Then I went to the second account I registered, then folder management, and that's where the problem arises. Regardless of the account I use, it always lets me manage folders only from the first account, and that's a major problem. Despite this, even after 15 minutes or with the app open, I still don't receive emails for the accounts, not even after an hour. I have to force the emails to be received, and then Thunderbird shows them to me.

2) In the combined view, it's not possible to move emails into the folders of the mailbox to which they belong. I'm forced to go into the specific mailbox each time and operate. I've tried various clients, and none of the combined view forces you to go into the specific mailbox.

3) Absurd attachment management. If an email has an attachment, I have to click three times to change the view each time. The first click switches from the combined view to the email, the second click switches from the email to the attachments. The third click finally opens the attachments. Other clients just click on the preview.
