The automated email from one sender states in the Inbox summary that the email client does not support HTML (TB app for Android). Presumably the message format is changed accordingly. I don't see a setting for incoming email formatting. Can you help? Inbox summary view and partial view of opened message below.

I set the Visible Message Actions to Delete and Move.

But I get Delete and Mark as Unread.

Move is far more important to me than Mark as Unread - why can't I see/control this?

In Android Thunderbird version 18.0, embedded photos from my webcam are no longer immediately visible within the HTML email view and integrated into the message. Instead, they are now displayed as attachments. In all other clients, as well as in Thunderbird for Desktop, everything still works as expected. It also worked correctly in previous versions. With version 18.0, without any changes to the settings, this behavior has changed.

This is incredibly annoying and makes it practically unusable. Is there a solution, and is this recognized as a bug or intended as a security feature? If it is the latter, I kindly request that it be made configurable in the settings.

I am using Thunderbird on Linux, there is an option to delete mail on trash on exit, and that worked. I don't see such option on the Android version, and the notification did not clear even I deleted all the mail.

I have unified inbox. If I want to view other folders e.g. sent them navigation is painful. Other android apps make navigation much simpler. Am I missing something

As the subject says, Thunderbird 18.0 for Android keeps crashing silently. There doesn't appear to be any specific trigger; periodically, the app just disappears off screen. Since it doesn't seem to be related to a specific user action, I wonder whether a background process (such as server syncing) might be causing it. My device is a Samsung Tab A-9.

We read "If you are having trouble viewing the full width of an HTML email in Thunderbird for Android, you can either pinch and zoom or change the viewing mode. "

Well that involves moving back and forth for each and every line.

Sure, blame it on the sender for assuming we have a desktop computer.

But now it's too late, they've already sent it to us.

Gmail gets around this by reformatting the HTML to fit the screen size.

Or perhaps we could be allowed to see the plain text version of a multi-part MIME message, like Roundcube allows us to.

Hello on my Samsung S24 synchronisation of email became very slow for a few days. I trier to réinstall TB but it did'nt change anything. Do you please have any idea where could be the bug and the way to fix it ?

I'm using Thundebrird version 17.0 on Android 15. I sent last month an email (from Thundebrird Desktop) to multiple people and got from around 20 of them responses which I critically need to preserve. I deleted none of them (intentionally). Today I found out that 15 of them disappeared from my inbox, when checking on Thunderbird on my laptop. On my phone I can find those 15 in my trash folder grouped together. I was super relieved to find these critical responses but also confused since I definitely didn't delete 15 of those emails. Most likely they were grouped together and I swipe delete them by accident. I mark each of them and select "move to" -> "Inbox". And now they just vanished. They are no longer in my trash and don't show up in my inbox. Normally when I move from deleted to inbox they move fine, same for spam.

Anything I could do? Anywhere I could look for these emails?

I have just reinstalled T/B (3-4 times now). Scanned barcode from notebook. Installed ok. This mobile T/B DOES NOT give me any option to add folders. Only: inbox, outbox, drafts, sent, deleted. I at least want (1) extra folder to store messages. How do I achieve this? Thanks My laptop T/B works well (on Ubuntu)

Summary: I am trying to set up my gmail account on my new phone, but after (what appears to be) successfully logging in, the Thunderbird for Android application does not pull me back out of gmail. Instead, I remain logged in to my gmail account as if in a browser. As you can see from my photos, it takes me to the point where I am truly into my gmail inbox, but I am checking it as if in some sort of outdated browser and not as if in Thunderbird. I am stuck; sitting in my gmail account, logged in; able to view email, check and change account settings, even get onto other parts of my google account. Unfortunately, I cannot find a way to get back out of my gmail account that returns me to the Thunderbird for Android accounts setup process with a successfully login to gmail. I end up having to hit exit or to close the app, which causes the account setup to fail.

Expected Behavior: Open the Thunderbird for Android App. Setup new account (gmail which produces an automatically detected OAuth 2.0 method). Give login credentials, gain access to gmail, and then be auto-redirected back to accounts setup process in Thunderbird for Android with full IMAP + SMTP access to my gmail.

Problematic Behavior: Same as above, except I am stuck as if in browser mode. When I exit and thus am returned back to the accounts setup page, I receive a failed notice (see photo). Immediately afterward, I tried to setup an account for the same gmail address on an old android phone and successfully logged in as expected. How do I get back to the main accounts dialog with a success?

Notes: The new phone is a linux-based phone (Furilabs FLX1s) on which I have found Android apps to function without hiccup. It seems like In fact, the Thunderbird for Android app itself seems to function fine. It doesn't crash. It allows me to navigate through the app menus flawlessly.

On a samsung a54 running android 16 and thunderbird 18.0, thunderbird crashes on trying to open a specific email from theglobesailer.com. it does contain quite a lot of images? Interestingly, it opens ok on my tablet running 17.0. I can't see anywhere obvious to submit a bug report, so maybe someone on here could pass it on, please?

Hello, the address auto-completion is working in the desktop version but not in the Android app. When I start typing an email address, no suggested contacts appear. I haven’t given the app permission to access my phone contacts, but it should still suggest addresses I’ve previously emailed or received messages from. I’m surprised there aren't more questions about this topic — maybe it's just an issue with my device? Thanks for your support. Best regards.

Hi. I use Thunderbird Android 17.0 on my phone and tablet. Everything is great on the phone.

On the tablet, unified inbox worked fine until two days ago. Now, no email goes into the unified inbox and I have to open accounts individually to see email. The unified inbox still shows, but the last email in there is from two days ago. I did not change any settings and berichten that the checkbox is checked to show the unify inbox.

What cohort have caused this and how can I fix it?

I installed Thunderbird on a new Motorola Razr running Android 15. It worked just fine for a few days, but now will not download any new emails (GMail on the same phone is working fine). I have two accounts installed. One (much smaller) seems to be working fine, while the other is only partially working. Namely, I can only see emails from Monday or earlier (today is Thursday).

If I use my desktop to delete one of the older messages that is displayed on the phone, it will be removed from the phone the next time I swipe down and have it refresh the inbox. If I use the desktop to update the read/unread status of an email that does appear one the phone, that is not updated when I refresh the phone.

It is a recently added account, is it possible that the device is just downloading older messages and is backed up? I don't know where or how I could access the activity monitor (or whatever the proper name is) to see what the program is or is not doing.

Today the pictures,jpg, stopped opening automatically in Thunderbird mobile. Now there is a View link and its just not good to have to go through the extra steps to see the pictures. It must be an update that broke it because my settings didn't change. Also, It would be helpfull to see date and time of messages instead of day of the week.

after yahoo messed up their email beyond usability I am looking for an email client.

I like Thunderbird with it's neat and clean user interface. But even with 0 subject lines ans compact settings I only see 8 emails per screen on my 10" tablet.

Is there another setting that I have missed which would give me at least 20 emails per screen?

Also search is incredibly slow (one result every 1-3 seconds). Is that only because I just recently installed it?

After the most recent Thunderbird app update from Google play, the Thunderbird app crashes instantly and constantly on start up. I did restart, uninstall, reinstall, OS update, clear cache, smart clean and still the Thunderbird app crashes instantly on start up. The screen will flash a few times as the app attempts to start. But instantly a window pops up saying the app has unfortunately shutdown. I am at witts end. I have been using Thunderbird for years. Never had this happen before. Anyone have any ideas? Google suggests getting hold of Mozilla support because this is becoming an on going issue. Please help.

I am having a configuration problem on my Android phone, configure it from the application installed on my Windows laptop. I receive my emails but they are periodically completely deleted during message synchronization. how to resolve this malfunction? THANKS
