there is already another question with the same problem I am having, but to be able comment on it I needed to ask my own question to register. I am running windows 8. I was using firefox when the prompt came up "firefox needs to update... and will reopen in a few moments". Firefox never reopened Instead I received an error message "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox class not registered". I have uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox , reinstalled and still receive the same error message "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox class not registered". When I reinstall firefox it never opens its always comes up with the error message. Any solutions?

When trying to play any sample from any album sold in Bandcamp.com the player starts playing, but there is no sound. Meanwhile other browsers plays it fine.

I use latest FF, I tried disabling various addons and plugins but it didn't help (they are not sound related anyway).

I run on Win8x64.

Update: The sound plays fine everywhere else on Firefox. YouTube etc. It plays everywhere except Bandcamp.

And the Bandcamp player is not Flash, it has nothing Flash related. It is HTML5 player.

This is very frustrating.

I store Microsoft Word files in DropBox. When I download them with Chrome or Internet Explorer, there is no problem.. When I use Firefox, it reads all my files as PDFs. It converts my Word files to PDF so I can't edit them when I download them from DropBox.

Please fix this! I love Firefox, but now I have to use other browsers because it's simply a nuisance to switch between browsers to work around this!

When FF23 upgraded to FF24 the default theme was broken

I usually have white text on black background set for Win8 high contrast theme. It worked fine in FF23

Now the default theme in FF24 is white with white text and the toolbar buttons have black surrounds on white toolbars. The sidebar is unreadable. The toolbar buttons themeselves are OK displaying as pale icons on black.

I have tried to fix by ticking use system colours - no change. Unticked no change.

Safe mode - no change.

Unticked/ticked harware accellaration - no change

I have tried re-installing, plus upgrading for FF25 beta then backdown to FF24.

Hope you can help.

Firefox is forgetting my two-step google logins. On the google two-step verification page, there's a checkbox which says "Don't ask for codes again on this computer."

But firefox keeps asking for codes.

i have firefox set to clear cookies on closing.

i also have the urls below set as exceptions, in two places:

-in about:permissions, they are all set to allow, and also to keep offline data without asking
    -in options/privacy/exceptions

mail.google.com maps.google.com calendar.google.com www.google.com shopping.google.com plus.google.com

  • .google.com

google.com gmail.com

this forum is messing up my list, above. Each url is a separate item in exceptions. The bulleted one actually starts with a star. (good job mozilla, thanks for this ancient text editor)

how do clear all cookies EXCEPT the ones above, when i close firefox? Or, is this not a cookie problem?

do i need to include "http://"

this article did not help https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/974020

I'm getting crash reports the length of a toilet roll. Can anyone pin this down ? Strong suspicion it's wretched flash again. I've downloaded/repaired Win 8.1 so many times, and checked the compatibility issues, and still can't get my beloved programs to function properly. How does one deal with Windows registry issues ?

Disallowing accessabilty access fixed problems for 57 which initially made firefox unuseable and eventually even full computer. Today Firefox upgraded to 57.0.1 and all problems are back. https://sourceforge.net/speedtest/ shows upload and DL speeds are decreased about 20%, but the real kickers are latency which increases about 10 to 100fold, from 16ms to 223 and then 1236ms, and packet loss consistently at 4 to 10%. After left open a while the firefox processes use up 100% of disk resources and whole computer becomes unuseable. Quitting and restarting firefox improve this but even at fresh restart, speedtest shows these awful latency and packet loss results immediately. Quitting firefox and same speedtest w Chrome I get latency 26ms, packet loss 0%, DL and UL about 20% faster. I reposted this on a few similar threads regarding the 57 problems but have been told to start a new thread. I am running Win8 and this is strictly a problem with firefox, no other apps, browsers etc. Since UL and DL speeds are still not bad I think the consistent very high packet loss, plus the numerous firefox processes which increase system resource use after perhaps a few hours to 100%, are current main problems.

Since updating to Firefox 23.0.1, I am unable to connect to our company servers. The error message is "Certificate type not approved for application.", and it gives me no option to create an exception.

In previous versions, Firefox gave the option of creating a security exception, and then everything worked as expected. The new version does not give this option, and hence I cannot connect to our company servers.

I can connect using Explorer, Opera, Chrome, etc., without any problems. Only Firefox refuses to connect.

Please advice.

I want to be able to expand web page pictures to full screen without one of two annoying pop-up mini wdws always popping up.

-One is the instructional: "______ is now fullscreen; press esc. at any time to exit fullscreen"
-The second is along the same lines, something about: "allow ________ to be fullscreen?" with a checkbox to 'allow'

I KNOW how to exit full screen. I don't want to be reminded for a full second every single time I expand a picture. As far as allowing a website to expand a picture to full screen, if I click full screen, obviously I want to engage full screen on that web page. In fact, why would firefox even give the option to disallow the function? It seems like shooting a spider with a shotgun---when there's no spider in the first place.

The old page now has stubs only, there is no full version on it: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

Separate but valid question: Searching Mozilla Support on this very forum yields no answers as to where to download the full version of the program itself, around which this entire forum has been set up with all the numerous questions in it about the program... yet there is no answer on how and where to actually *GET* the full version of the program... this strongly suggests that the forum administrators went out of their way, to make it difficult to impossible for users to get the FULL VERSION of the program...

There are many valid reasons for needing the full version of the program, don't you think it's pretty incredible that it has always been difficult to download the full version of Firefox? The old page had it buried in between the Acholi and Xhosa languages, even though English (US) is probably needed by millions of users vs. relatively few for Acholi and Xhosa... Millions of users had to go though gymnastics of finding it buried in between all the worlds languages with every consecutive version, and now they completely removed it even from that page...

What is the the reason, and you have to agree there is a reason, for Mozilla preventing us from having the full installation file? And what is the reason, even when the full installation file existed on that page, for this forum to make it almost impossible to find that page when searching the forum, or the entire internet for the official full version download page?

I don't know but i am uncertain of the tagging in Firefox. Have the Firefox team changed the tagging in later revisions of Firefox?

Back in FF 4 i think i made som tags on a certain adress (in this case www.tranceadict.com) which in turn created a virtual folder called Tranceaddict.

When looking in the tags of the bookmarks in that folder i don't see any tags applied at all. So i wonder how i could create such a virtual folder before but not now?

Thanks!

I have a Windows 8 laptop on the Beta channel. I updated to Firefox 22 Beta yesterday and noticed that the Roboform toolbox was missing. I reinstalled Roboform, just to make sure, but it was not present in the browser windows, nor is it on the Toolbar menu. It does show as an installed add-in, and the toolbar is present in I.E. 10 and Chrome.

I have abrand new ASUS notebook with a 11 and a half inch screen. I have up to date Windows system, and am using the latest version of firefox. I have gone through all the tips in the help section of firefox including clearing cache and cookies, and also checking all settings for text, however none of this has corrected the problem. For example when i log into my online banking the text is that big it doesnt fit into the boxes set on natwest screen, so therefore i can view all of the text and it gets jumbled together in some places. With ELC a good example is the menu across the top of the page which gives all of the categories of products they sell for you to click on. As the writing is too large it does not display properly. Im not sure what else to do to crrect this. Can anyone help?
