Hello at Mozilla Support,

I'm having this issue where sometimes, when I double-click to download a link or open a downloads item, it opens the same bookmark page instead. This is the page, and not sure if it's alphabetical, since this pages starts with an 'a' "https://authorspublish.com/#optin" Wondering how I can get this to stop changing the page I am on and opening the bookmark.

Thanks, Sonya

If I click on any link to Facebook, Facebook then takes over that tab so I cannot return to where ever I was before i clicked on the Facebook link. For example, I have a tab for DuckDuckGo. If I do a search and a link to Facebook appears, and I click on it, I go to the whatever the link is pointed to - but the BACK Button will NOT take me back to DuckDuckGo. The history for that Tab only shows the Facebook page. How can I correct this?

Hello, Yesterday I accidentally removed the icon that allowed me to quickly open a new window by the tab on the right. I was looking for how to turn it back on, and unfortunately I could not find such information or option in the settings. It makes it very easy for me to work and search for information. In the attachments I will send a screenshot of what it looks like with me now and what icon I am referring to; I downloaded a picture from the Internet where it is. Thank you in advance for your help.

How to prevent a Firefox window to accept new tabs from outside?

I use Firefox on Linux, on a wide screen, usually with multiple windows open at the same time.

Specifically, I have a smallish window containing a calendar view. It's annoying that new tabs get created in that small window, because I have to move them manually to another window and resize that. I'd like to be spared the clicks and drags to get that done, or always needing to remember to move the focus to another Firefox window after doing something with the calendar.

Is there a way to accomplish the following: 1. When I've got a Firefox window open that I don't want new tabs in 2. And I open a link from outside Firefox (say, from a mail in Thunderbird or from my IDE) 3. A new tab doesn't get created in the window from 1. 4. Even if that window has the focus. 5. Instead, the URL gets opened in either a new tab in another Firefox window or a new Firefox window

I'm fine with a stable add-on, if that's what it takes to do this.

Any ideas greatly appreciated!

When you're in a fullscreen tab, like a youtube video, and use the command for a new tab (ctrl + t) you are not directly in the address-bar in that new tab.

If you're in a non-fullscreen tab and use the command, then you are directly in the address-bar.

This is inconsistent and annoying. If you are watching an English youtube video and you come across a word you don't know, and you press "ctrl + t" to get to a new tab, you're not in the address-bar to type something like "meaning word".

Is this a bug? Is this an intended feature? How do I fix this? Is there a setting for this in about:config?

I keep a lot of tabs open, and it's not that unusual to lose my session altogether and have to restore it. This time, though, it's not letting me.

A "Restore Session" tab came up that said the following:

"Sorry. We’re having trouble getting your pages back.

We are having trouble restoring your last browsing session. Select Restore Session to try again.

Still not able to restore your session? Sometimes a tab is causing the issue. View previous tabs, remove the checkmark from the tabs you don’t need to recover, and then restore."

I usually attempt to restore from the "History" dropdown menu at the top of the screen, and it usually works on the first try. But even when it doesn't, this screen appears and gives me the option of clicking on the bright blue "Restore Session" button, and that typically does it. This time, though, the blue "Restore Session" button is much more muted in color and not responsive to clicks.

Do you have any ideas? Like I say, I keep a LOT of tabs open, and most of them serve as reminders to take care of something or other, so I really need to reopen all tabs from that previous session so I don't lose those reminders. Thanks!

Hovering over a tab no longer works properly. Now it just "blinks" the description of the tab but doesn't leave the text long enough to read it. This feature used to be very helpful when you have a large number of tabs open. Now it's useless.

Earlier today I changed my settings in "Privaty & Security" to "Clear history when Firefox closes". In that setting I selected to only delete "Browsing and download history."

I assumed this would just delete my browsing history from the URL bar, but now after I closed Firefox, it also deleted all my tabs!! There were many important tabs that I don't want to lose. But I also can't find them under 'recently closed tabs', and I also tried a solution from this forum, namely to find the recovery file and upload them to https://www.jeffersonscher.com/ffu/scrounger.html -- but they don't contain my old tabs either!

Is there still something I can do to recover my lost tabs??

Just the last month or so, when I preview an attachment then download it, I find that my Yahoo email session has been closed.

A recent Firefox update made it easy for me to re-open the mail session but it never returns to the email I had open at the time.

Is this a Yahoo issue or a Firefox issue? And more importantly, how do I stop it happening?

I notice similar questions last year had no response
