I get this rubbish: Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue

Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to www.facebook.com because this web site requires a secure connection.

What can you do about it?

www.facebook.com has a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which means that Firefox can only connect to it securely. You can’t add an exception to visit this site.

The issue is most likely with the web site, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it.

If you are on a corporate network or using anti-virus software, you can reach out to the support teams for assistance. You can also notify the web site’s administrator about the problem.

If my firefox start page name is e.g. "http:/world.com/WeAreTheWorld.htm" it doesn't work, because firefox is starting with "http:/world.com/wearetheworld.htm". All upper case letters are moved to lower case letters. The bookmark routine of firefox doesn't have this issue. I think that is a bug of firefox whish should be fixed.

Most of the time but not all of the time Firefox appears to be missing all menus, but it seems that it has actually just nulled all the strings. The image shows the problem. This seems to be the case 100% if I click a link from email. Starting a new window does show the menu. I've tried the reset menu procedures I have found with no effect.

This is MacOS Catalina. I don't recall this happening prior to upgrading to Catalina.

I used to get my PDF bank statements with no problem. Recently I go into the bank's site, ask for the statement, and instead of seeing the actual statement I see a screen like the one in the attached image. I called the bank and they said it was an issue with the new version of Firefox, and I was able to access the statements using the Edge browser. How can I fix this in Firefox? I use Win 10 64 bit.

I actually think this issue is to do with Windows 10 rather than Firefox as such...but I'll ask here anyway. In fact I kind of know it's Win 10 because pretty much the same thing happens on Edge and Chrome :) Anyway,in Win 7 when you right click and select 'save as' [eg for a picture on Twitter] it saves the file literally instantly...but on Win 10 there's a slight delay,of say a few seconds, before it goes ahead and saves the file. I've tried tons of things that people suggest for this issue, like disabling every service that isn't absolutely necessary etc, disabling some of them fixes it for a short while, then the same thing starts again. Tried a couple of different anti-virus programs [I usually use Avast,I tried Panda and Bitdefender],it did seem a tiny bit better for a while with Panda...but only for a while. I tried several other things I saw in different forums, that I can't remember, none of which fixed it. So I reinstalled Win 7 on that machine...100% perfect, instant 'save as' function, just as it always was before [this lasted for whole 3 days I had Win 7 on there]

I thought, well maybe it's that this old pc doesn't like Windows 10 or something,so since the pc was getting pretty old anyway I then bought a brand new 9th Gen i7 pc with 16GB RAM,installed Win 10 and it's exactly the same.

This problem does seem to go away if I reboot...but then it comes back an hour later...or 5 minutes later :) Does anyone have any idea at all what I can do to fix this? Or is this just normal for Win 10? It's only a fairly small delay, not the 20-30 second delay some others are reporting,it's not the end of the world I suppose, but it's just really annoying, for instance if you're downloading a whole bunch of pics or something it's almost unusable. Thanks

Hi all, Long time user of Firefox and love it, however on my work computer it is very unstable. When loading up it seems fine until I click into another window and on returning FIrefox is is full screen mode.

I then have to Alt\view\fullscreen and then top right, restore to see the taskbar once again, however on top of this it seems very unstable and often when trying to click back into Firfox it will not allow me to do so and appears as if it has crashed. I then have to Alt-contr-del to close the program and stat again.

Have tried resetting Firefox without joy so a bit stuck as to what the issue could be? Any assistant would be greatly appreciate as I run all the same plug-ins on my home computer and works perfectly!

I think its a Bug. But I want someone to check if it is just on my installation. 1) Go to this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elvis_Presley (as an example) 2) Press ctrl-f to open search bar 3) Write the word "Born" ( Firefox finds it 12 times) 4) Click Match Case and only 2 matches are found. Good. 5) Refresh page (use F5 or the circle-arrow) (Search bar still says 2 matches) 6) Click The down-arrow (Find the next occurrence of the phrase) Now Firefox finds all 12 matches _NOK_ To resolve either: 7a) Press Match Case twice or 7b) Rewrite the search term

Is it like this only for me or for everyone? Thanks!

Hi all,

We use Firefox ESR (and Thunderbird too) in our company, and there a problem only under windows 10 (it's ok under Windows 7).

Under Windows each user has a network drive as user home folder.

FF & TH profiles are locate in user home folder (H:\.system\{FF,TH}\profiles.default

Everything works fine but after couple of hours (very randomly), FF crash on every HTTPS website with this error : Connection blocked. Potential security issue.

The only way to fix it is restart Firefox. When Firefox is closing, I can see this errors In the Windows Viewer Events :

-> Information - Application Popup - Event 26 - Delayed Write Failed : Exception Processing Message 0xc000a080 Parameters 0x7ffe5d272d58 0x7ffe5d272d58 0x7ffe5d272d58 0x7ffe5d272d58

-> Système - mrxsmb - Event 139 - {Delayed Write Failed} Windows was unable to save all the data for the file \.system\Firefox\profile.default\favicons.sqlite-shm. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection.

The mrxsmb event only appears on severals .sqlite-shm files

There is nothing abnormal on the side of the server hosting the profiles. The logs server reveal nothing and indicate no more than with Windows 7 client PCs compared to Windows 10.

After delving into google for these error messages, tricks like disabling TCP Offloading or Opportunistic Locking don't work.

Firefox Safe Mode doesn't work.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Thanks in advance :-)

Windows 10 64 bit, Firefox 7.0.2 After I log into an Etrade account, if I click on any link (such as a stock symbol) within the account, I am returned to the Etrade login page. If I use the back button on the browser I am returned to the page I was on (I was not logged out). I never can get to the stock symbol or other link within Etrade. I have tried changing every add on or extension change (especially security settings), refreshing Firefox, running in safe mode and actually reinstalling Firefox without success. I think I have seen this on other websites also, but this type action does not happen on all websites. This does not happen when using Chrome.

Dear All, my Firefox is broken. It starts and shows a blank tab, but I cannot open any site, not even about:config or the options pane. Typing anything in the address bar or the search bar and pressing Return does nothing.

The only things I can do is opening new tabs (which will remain blank), and clicking on menu items in the main menu. None of the items that would open any dialog works, though.

So far I have tried:

  • Starting Firefox in safe mode
  • Creating and using a new profile (firefox.exe /p)
  • Uninstall FF and re-installing the latest version
  • Uninstalling FF and installing a previous version (downgrade), using a new profile
  • Deleting all mozilla and firefox entries in the registry in an uninstall / reinstall cycle

Now I am out of ideas. Any help is welcome. Thanks!
