Firefox 115 running extremely slowly

I downloaded and installed the new version of Firefox a few days ago, and since then it has been running increasingly slowly; sometimes it takes several moments longer than usual to connect to a website, sometimes my cursor hangs when I'm typing. If I quit Firefox and relaunch, it functions normally, but then slows down again. I'm on a Mac running System 10.14.6, and I have a Dashlane extension mounted in the browser. Once I've engaged Dashlane, Firefox seems to slow down quickly, so I am wondering if the problem is partly the way the two are interfacing, or if there are other factors.

Chrome runs normally, as does Thunderbird--only Firefox seems to be struggling right now. Can you help?

Thanks!

Hi Melissa, I totally believe Dashlane could cause some slowness if you have a ton of passwords saved within it. I remember something similar happening with users who had the LastPass addon installed awhile back.

If you don't have alot of passwords saved it in DashLane, it could just be it trying to constantly sync in the background & that could account for the slowness.

I found this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Dashlane/comments/14jh4kv/dashlane_getting_slow_on_firefox/ "DashLane Support on June 28: The fix for the browser latency issues has been added to our latest version releases for Chrome and Edge - v6.2325. However, we are still waiting on Mozilla's review, which is why Firefox is still on version 6.2321.

Here is the bug we filed with Mozilla: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1838448 Will update once we get more info."

Then support posted again 15 hrs ago: "Hey everyone, confirming that v 6.2327 is being progressively rolled out as of this morning, and it contains the fix for this issue."

This seems to be your exact issue & has a fix already. I hope its rolled out to you soon. If not, you may have to manually update your DashLane addon to the latest version.

Please let us know if the update fixes the slowness issue for you

Hi Noah, Thank you so much. You were exactly right. Dashlane updated this morning and the problem is now solved.

Awesome! Very happy the Dashlane devs were able to fix the slowness for you! Looks like the Dashlane problems started when Firefox 115 was released back on July 4th. Thankfully they were able to figure out a fix pretty quick.
