I've loved Firefox for years but can no longer use it because I have been unable to resolve this issue. All was well, an update was done, and bingo, I got this message. I don't know how to fix it. I removed Firefox from my desktop and re-installed. Same problem.

"The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem."

Firefox is not loading on my desktop full sceen. I can see a small page minimalized when I put my curser on the Firefox icon. This has happened once before and I had to uninstall and install and I lost a lot of settings doing that. Please advise. Picture on the left is what I see, not the other. Unfortunately, it seems that firefox has decided to reactivate these features with an update? This is unacceptable. I do not want my settings to be altered with a software update. If firefox wants to tell me about a new feature, feel free to make a dialogue bubble pop up (once) asking if I'd like to explore said new features. Otherwise, please refrain from altering my preferred configuration without permission or notification. Doing so is completely asinine at best and shows open contempt for your customer base at worst.

I do not wish to give mozilla/firefox another opportunity to make my experience worse, thusly I ask: Is there anyway to entirely remove/disable the sidebar/vertical tabs feature from the browser so that it cannot be reactivated without the specific actions of the user?

Hi I have lost all my browsing history and nothing I browse is saved. Also all my bookmarks have disappeared and I can't save anything even clicking on the star doesn't do anything I have quite a bit of stuff bookmarked, can you help? The browsing history and my bookmarks seemed to disappear at the same time.

1.The browser is closed 2.Looking at the task manager, there are still two browser processes (firefox.exe) present and they together take up about 3GB of memory 3.These two processes have no I/O reads and writes. 4.These two processes cannot be concluded. I've tried CMD, Powshell, XueTr, etc., but none of them can free up the memory space occupied by these two processes.

please try and update for me i have tried several times and it keeps failing to update i have closed computer and cleared every thing and have tried several times and nothing seems to work it has asked me to update several times over the last couple of days but nothing is updating and i cannot play any music on Utube or even old music that i have downloaded long ago

i do not have anyone to help me on this i did try help line but i must be doing something wrong because nothing has changed

Hello, I am trying to login to my account on www.zazzle.com and use their site. Sometimes it will let me through and I can be on the site for about 20 minutes before a captcha comes up that says press and hold this button so we know you are not a bot. Well the button never works, it always errs out and gives me the message to please try again, and then locks me out of their site. I have tried clearing my cache and cookies, updating my browser, resetting the router, I don't have any VPN's, I have tried working in a private window, adding the website to the privacy exceptions, block pop up windows is unchecked, I am out of ideas, what do I do??

Hello: FF 140.b9 64b w11p. Are there ANY search engines (not nec browsers, just want to do a search in the address bar or search field) that do NOT go to an AI site to search? I want to minimize my use of AI technology, which uses extremely environmentally costly data farms. Thank you.

Ran into an interesting bug with Firefox since installing the macOS26 Dev beta. Whenever I use command space to bring up spotlight, Firefox become unresponsive, the beach ball will spin. It will only happen if Firefox is in focus when I use spotlight, and only if I am signed into Firefox sync.

I am not sure of a way to help replicate this issue as it seems to only happen when signed with Sync, but I would be happy to provide additional if I can.
