Firefox recently had an update, and now when I am uploading files, I can't double click to upload selected files. I have to first select the file, and then click the open button.

Before the latest Firefox update, I could simply double click on files to upload. This workflow was much faster.

If I go to about:config, and search for: widget.use-xdg-desktop-portal.file-picker, I can change the value from 0 to 2, and then I can upload files by double clicking. However, then Firefox forgets my last upload location, and always opens in the home folder.

If I set it back to 0, it remembers my last upload location, but I can't double click to open files.

My current Firefox version is 152.0.1. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I can't access the QVC website. I get an error message below. They tell my my browser which is Firefox is blocking me. How can I correct this. I could access it just fine in May and the beginning of June then it stopped.

I use a program called Ultimate Guitar Tabs. It is fantastic for finding chord sheets for playing guitar songs and being able to download them as a PDF file with the lyrics and chords shown. Unfortunately I have tried doing this simple press of a button save as PDF in Firefox and all I get is a colored screen either blue purple red etc and no PDF. I have tried the exact same thing in Google Chrome and it does it flawlessly. I don't want to use Google if I don't have to, but at this stage I have to and would be pleased if Firefox could address this problem and make life easy again. I updated Firefox today and everything seems ok except for this PDF problem. I imagine their will be other people affected by this and it may not seem like a big deal but Ultimate Guitar Tabs is the industry standard for teaching people how to play songs on guitar and is used by most muso's world wide to teach students how to play specific songs. Please note It affects both Linux Mint (My main system) and windows 11 (My Laptop). If Google chrome can do it on both Linux & Windows 11 I am sure you should be able to address this problem.

Please advise asap if you need more info etc.

Recently I have been having a problem with repeatedly needing to reset my password every few days on sites that always used to recognize me. It seems my cookies are being deleted automatically or something. What is going on with this?

I have Proton Mail and I use Firefox, I used to be able to simply copy a link in Firefox that I wanted to share with someone by emailing them the link in Proton Mail. Then that simple process no longer worked.

However I recently discovered there were two shortcuts I could access in Firefox to copy the link and then open up a new email and click a paste icon in Proton mail and the email link would be pasted in the email.

Now that does not work! What gives and how can I do this process that used to be so completely simple???

I clicked on a PDF website while searching for articles on relations between Ukrainian settlers and First Nations people. Instead of opening so I could read it, it was automatically downloaded as a file into Firefox. Unfortunately, I noticed the title had random parentheses in AFTER I clicked on it to read it. I updated Windows defender, and ran the offline scan. I also uploaded and ran MSN.com M.S.R.T. and Malware Bytes, but they found nothing.

What happened? Did I unwittingly install Russian malware into my computer, or does Fire Fox automatically download some PDF websites as files?

I no longer use Mozilla VPN. Too many times I had to stop to visit sites and or delete and reload to get VPN to work. Please cancel my subscription. [edited from public] @centurylink.net Charles McFatter

I have a problem loading the page "claude.ai". yesterday it was working perfectly but today Firefox shows me a blank page. I really don't know what to do. I tried to clear the cache, going in private mode, forcing a reset, closing and reopening. What's the problem? Thanks

I had about 15 pinned tabs - unloaded - that I was saving for a research project. I shut my PC down and when powered up for the next session - all the pinned tabs were gone. I never thought to record the tabs via screen shot or something.

Is this normal - what are the limits of pinned tabs ? Do they expire in a day ? When the PC powers down ? When Firefox updates ?

Exactly what are the limits or boundaries for pinned tabs ?

I don't know who was the absolute LOSER to have the idea of forcing updates while the user is still working on the browser by shutting the browser down. Can someone else help me understand how to stop this nonsense??

And yes, I had the option "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" selected, and I'm still being molested by this forced restart """feature"""!

Every time I'm in the middle of an important work session, Firefox will suddenly refuse to open new tabs and prevent the ones that are already open from connecting and receiving updates. It erase private tabs and messes up everything!

I was in a call with my boss, and it got dropped because Firefox decided to update?? And DEMANDED that I close the browser IMMEDIATELY to continue using it????? What the hell???????????

I've only been running into this problem in the past few months, and I'm honestly shocked by how little uproar I'm seeing online about this bug. This is by far the worst think I've ever seen in a browser.

Anyway, I appreciate any help. I saw a trick to permanently disable updates, but I don't want to disable them. I just want them to be installed either when I CHOOSE or when the bloody browser is NOT in use!

I recently bought a new computer with Windows 11. All my passwords and user names have been transferred to this new computer and appear to work. However, with Win11 on this new computer, I am not able to log into my Costco account w Firefox and have to use Chrome or MS instead.

As I write I am seriously considering walking away from using Firefox and advising all my friends to not use it.

Every time a programme does a update on my desktop, which is several times a week, it crashes Firefox and I get endless messages all day to keep rebooting Firefox.

It is getting extremely aggravating, frustrating and making me very annoyed.

This is supposed to be a modern browser with no big issues, supposedly easier to use than others? not on my desktop it is not and has not been for several months.
