The recent update changed how the mute button works in Firefox, before it would replace the icon and would show text and whatnot if it was muted or wanted to autoplay; now it just always shows the mute/unmute button in a tab playing audio. This would normally be fine but it is causing my tabs to constantly be shrinking and expanding whenever the audio changes in a tab, and it's really frustrating me and it feels like an overall far worse user interface design than it was before, even if people were complaining about it. Is there some sort of middle ground where I can set a maximum tab size or something? I know this used to be a feature in about:config but it doesn't exist anymore for some reason. I've also tried using a userChrome CSS code for it that I found online; it got rid of the button but it still made the tab size change and the code I tried using for maximum tab size also didn't affect that. Really starting to frustrate me! Please give me any advice I feel like I've exhausted all my options lol

I lost all bookmarks overnight and the Bookmarks tab is completely empty. I have located the latest JSONL24 backup file and tried to import it via the Firefox General Tab setting; however, the file does not show up in the Import Browser Data route. In fact, the C: directory as seen through this window is quite different from the actual C: directory. What am I doing wrong? Are there any other way to restore the bookmarks using the JSONL24 file?

While writing a message the editor freezes, First 10-15 characters are fine, then every 10 characters or so it freezes -- comes back, but freezes again. You can't type at more than 1 characters/sec or so! So It has become pretty useless.

It has become unusable as a mail tool -- I have no themese -- no add-ons .. NOTHING .. only filters on incoming messsages.

I just reinstalled TB fresh -- no difference -- same behavior!

It happens with gmail accounts, yahoo accounts, hotmail accounts and my other imap accounts. I have removed and reinstalled TB -- no difference .. it freezes --

I do have large mail boxes -- of 7 accounts I have on it, 3 of them have more than 2GB mail data. But we aren't doing search -- just plain email writing is impossible.

I am using Thunderbird on MxLinux (Debia bookworm ) Installed TB fresh on new built machine in May, 2025. It worked fine for maybe a month and then it started this behavior.

I downloaded a couple extensions to my Account, But how do I Activate them and use then and turn them on and where to go to see that there on and currently working? I'm using an Android Phone

need to replace bookmarks on server not merge them, w/bookmarks on locale device

currently when i log in it merges what is on server w/ what i just reworked and getting rid of multiples ... will have to do this again as i clean even more so need ot know how to accomplish exchange not merger

I'm trying to install Mozilla VPN but it won't install. The error message is as follows: the installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail.

I'm opted in to studies, but unable to toggle the switch to opt-out because it is "grayed out" (screenshot attached).

Cannot find any studies-related solution in existing community Q&A except for one that says to toggle the switch to opt out, which isn't an option for me.

My Thunderbird v.139.0.1 crashed. It would not run at all. I downloaded Thunderbird and it was v.139.0.2. It looks entirely different and created a new profile. I edited the Profiles.ini and replaced the new profile with the old profile. (this worked 2 months ago when I bought a new computer). Now having done the editing to get all my old emails etc, it will not bring up the old profile. How do I get my old profile and the setup from the 139.0.1 look and feel. Thanks.....

I have a rule that moves email messages from backups to a 'Backup' folder. I also have another rule that moves emails address to myself to 'My Mail'.

When I start TB 128.11.1esr in the morning my 'Backup' and 'My Mail' folders show new email counts. When I click on 'My Mail' the number on it decreases and 'Backup' increases. This happens with other rules on other folders.

So, my question is this behavior caused my 'Message Filters' being triggered when I click a folder or potentially a latent refresh of the folders new email counts.

I received an email saying that I had to sign in in order to keep my account. I did not click on the link provided since I thought it might be a scam. Was this a valid email? If so, is signing in now meet the requirement to keep my account?

At home we have a shared computer with Ubuntu and Firefox as main browser. Each family member has its own Linux user.

We use the functionality of Firefox saving passwords, however we've noticed that these passwords are visible between the Linux users. So, for instance if two of us use the same website, somehow our user/pass get are visible to each other. Is this behavior expected? How can we set FF to make the user/pass visible only to the Linux user who is using it?

Hello. I just have a general question. I have read about it a little but I get mixed info. Some say yes, some say no.... So, is it possible to get a virus or malware or any of that spyware stuff on mobile phones like you can on a computer? Particularly Android phones. They have all these anti-virus apps and stuff you can download saying they're designed specifically for Android mobile devices but then I have read articles that say that the Android operating system is not the same as, let's say, a Windows PC operating system so it's not possible to download spyware onto it. I'm just curious and appreciate any info. Thank you!!

Weird issue I discovered today is that for whatever reason the LastPass addon in Mozilla Firefox keeps disappearing upon reopening the app and among different computers. So I had it all setup on my MacBook Pro previously working fine but now I found logging into my iMac for LastPass to be missing altogether from my Extensions. I re-installed it. Having had to sign in all over again etc and now when I go to another computer (again logged in with my Firefox account) then the Extension is not there!!!! So damn annoying. What's going on here? J'accède à ma messagerie sans rentrer de mot de passe. Je fais "connexion", puis "annuler" ( une ou 2 fois) et je parviens à rentrer dans la messagerie. Je viens de m'en apercevoir car habituellement je rentre le mot de passe quand on me le demande. Qu'en pensez vous?
