Hi I decided to donate so I could get rid of the automatic start of my browser showing the request for donation screen whenever I open Thunderbird. Even though I received the confirmation that I successfully donated, I still get the annoying request for donation. How do I stop the auto load of the browser?

Hi everyone,

I've been experiencing weird troubles with some messages. When I click a message in the list to open it, sometimes the message opened shows parts of other unrelated messages, including incomplete content, lines of base64 encoded strings, boundary lines, partial html code, you name it. Looks like sometimes the program just mixes valid headers with parts of other random messages, starting on random lines. Sometimes the message content shows only the final line of the code of another unrelated message (the boundary end).

I'm attaching two captures to illustrate the issue. Only one folder is affected (well, unluckily for me, is the INBOX...), so I guess that file is the one broken.

I've tried the "repair" option on the affected folder, to no avail. Sometimes looks like the problem is gone, but then another message that was ok before shows up broken.

Thunderbird version is 128.1.0esr (64bits), running on Windows 11 Professional (23H2). Profile size is 30 GB, INBOX database file is 16.757.000 KB by now, with 17.445 messages. I'm using IMAP as server, and no message is broken on the server (I've checked them on the webmail service). The machine is using a SSD, NVMe kingston RBUSNS8 239GB, if you want to know... It's ok AFAIK.

 If you need any other information regarding this, please ask and I will gladly provide it. As you may imagine, this issue is driving me mad!

Hi Guys, I wonder if you can help . I have had Monzilla Thunderbird App for some while , primarily used for email, and access to my email account with Microsoft and has always been a bit of a pain to say the least. That I fear is because it was never set up properly by myself in the first place.

However, at the moment I can't receive any email from my PC ......."bards@btconnect.com " unless I sign in via a webpage. However, access via my smartphone using supplied Outlook email app, no problem.

So I am hopeful that you guys can help me sort out my PC access once and for all.

The current problem has arisen after receiving a forced donation / subscription page from Mozilla having made my donation I still do not have access to my email and folders.

Brief history: i. Originally PC access to account via Monzilla working fine, (donations made at intervals to Monzilla). ii. Microsoft then changed security systems and servers and with current setup at the time I couldn't get access to email incoming or outgoing ( problem with Imap / PoP3 servers). iii. Fix provided by Monzilla with new account denoted as .... bards@btconnect.com (OWL) whatever OWL stands for I do not know, (annual subscription required). iv. Even with the use of this get around , I still had problems sending mail this I believe was a problem down to default passwords and old server settings. (confliction between default settings and original account settings and use of OWL ? ). v. As mentioned above the current problem has arisen after receiving a forced donation / subscription page from Mozilla having made my donation I still do not have access to my email. problem with server settings again. Don't know what's going on ? and I am thoroughly confused and would appreciate some help getting things back on track. Hello! I have Firefox and Google set to Dark Mode. Suddenly this week, when I do a search, the answers are coming up not in dark mode. I can hit refresh several times and it will eventually go back to being Dark.

I have checked and I am running the lastest version of Firefox and my Windows is up to date.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I don't know if you can help, Miscrosoft is useless so have given up on them. For some days now I've been getting a grey box with red printing appearing repeatedly on my screen, right in the centre. Try as I might I cannot get it to stop. It could have something to do with videos as today it started appearing after I looked at a video on Twitter. I have included a photo of the box Weirdly, I can't take a screen shot of it - it comes up blank and also, the cursor disappears behind the box and is invisible.

If you can't help could you point me to where I might get help please?

Hi. I have approximately 26 folders in gmail and 34 filters that sort messages from my inbox to the appropriate folder on the mail server. I am planning on rearranging the filters and would like to know if there is a preferred way to optimize them. For example, am I better off having individual filters (say from several health providers) that end up saving respective messages into a 'Health' folder OR should I have 1 filter that looks for each provider in turn (OR condition aka 'Match any of...' ) then moves them to the 'Health' folder.

Not worried about performance, but more wondering if one method is more efficient than another.

Also, I seem to recall seeing in the filter help pages that it is preferable to have local storage for filters as opposed to having the mail server sort them out. Why is that?

I accidentally deleted an email account through Tools- Account Settings - Account Actions - Remove Account.

Is it possible to restore this account and its associated sub-folders.

I have installed Thunderbird on a separate PC and restored my latest backup, which unfortunately is 4 months old, meaning that I am missing 4 months worth of emails.

Might it be possible to link to files/folders containing my messages prior to the removal, perhaps by recreating the email account or might there be some other method in which I could achieve this.

Any thoughts you might have would be VERY welcome.

Thunderbird keeps crashing. That is about all that I can tell you. It started this morning (/when I got to work I fist noticed it). I have not used any add ons. I have been submitting crash reports. Crash data avaiable on request. I uninstalled and re installed, same result; crashes immediately on start up.

Please assist.

I've been a Thunderbird user for years. I have no idea what they changed recently, but it's incredibly, incredibly SLOW, almost to the point of unusability. Even something as simple as deleting emails.

I usually do these in chunks -- select multiples and delete. We're not talking about hundreds of emails at at time here, just maybe 5-15. Select them all, hit delete, and it should take just a couple of seconds to delete the messages. It did, in the past. But lately, it's taking so long that I could leave and make a sandwich, and when I come back, maybe it will be done. Maybe it will still be working, though, or maybe it will have locked up because it was taking so long.

It's pretty difficult to get work done at this rate.

Playback of videos on the invideo.io site is not supported. Also the Tiktok account page for uploading videos says Firefox is not supported. Both sites recommend Chrome… (read more)

Playback of videos on the invideo.io site is not supported. Also the Tiktok account page for uploading videos says Firefox is not supported. Both sites recommend Chrome or Edge instead. I'm using the latest version on my laptop. Firefox is my default browser so would like these sites to work.

I supply software that uses TB to send emails with an attachment (via MAPI - an invoice) I have a number of customers for whom this has stopped working. I tested all of these with the usual fixes. The app has full access to the folder containing the file. The app is set as administrator and is inside the firewall. I have set default mail app to TB. TB is set to check as default on startup. Yet windows keeps saying we need to define a default email client. One customer solved the problem by buying a new PC. I have another customer who has this problem on a new PC. There may be a common denominator in Microsoft Office which on loaded onto the PC's. If that is the problem then that is Microsoft denying access to TB? Has anyone had this problem and can suggest a fix I would be grateful.
