hi, snap thunderbird 155.0-1 ubuntu 24.04 keeps asking for passwords of all email accounts after upgrading thunderbird. all passwords are correct and they were not changed. the issue started today after thunderbird was upgraded to 155.0-1. this new version seems to have touched on oauth: https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/155.0/releasenotes/

Where is a link, icon, or ANY WAY to add a shortcut site to my Ubuntu FF **DESKTOP** homescreen?

I already have 4 rows (since 2013 over many Linux laptops. Ubuntu, Mint, popOS, and now Ubuntu 26.04 LTS).

There is room in the fourth row for a few more. BUT I don't see any icon or link or right-click option to add another!

Phrasing the article search various ways gets me a lot of unrelated stuff.

EVERY help article, of which there are few, seems to have a BIG-ASSumption that everyone is using mobile Firefox.

NO! NO three dots. No right click brings up anything. NOTHING in settings. I've been through everything in the 3-bar menu, and there is NOTHING. (I already use it to sync, go to OTHER settings, go to help, etc.)

This is a day after an update, though I don't know how that affects it.

Usually if I forget how I did something, I just explore and find it. BUT --

My way of adding new shortcuts seems to be GONE.

I use Ubuntu Linux on my laptop: this OS was updated two days ago, from 24.04 to 24.04.2. Since then I have been unable to access my daily favourite website. A banner showing ACCESS DENIED is displayed, citing "unusual activity". I have attached a screenshot. I have discovered that I CAN access the website in the Brave browser. But Firefox is my preferred browser. I have tried deleting browsing history, opening a Private Window, rebooting the laptop but nothing has worked. I do have some Firefox folders, on containing stored passwords, another containing a recovery file but I don't know how to safely proceed now. What is the best way forward for me to allow me to access my favourite website? Should I create an entirely new account and if I do would I be able to import all my passwords and add-ons, etc.?

The latest Snap update on my Kubuntu laptop is marked as a BETA version. I haven't selected the BETA stream, and I checked and snap seems to be pointed at the stable version.

I like to keep track of changes at each install and there's no Release Notes available.

Is this an error at your end or do I need to change something to get back to a stable version?

I've found out that on both Linux and Windows since the last update (154.0), the PDFs printed directly from the Thunderbird PDF viewer, prints out blank PDF.

To recreate this, open a PDF attachment in an email, simple double click on it, in the top right corner on the tool bar, press the little printer icon, choose either "Save as PDF" or print to the actual printer, in both cases, you will get one blank PDF page.

When working in a tab, Whatsapp, Youtube, or even Buzilla when I want to report this, the tab just crash's. Sometimes I can restore it immediately, but other times if I click on "Restore this tab" repeatedly, the whole window crash's!

The instructions for turning off notifications don't apply here, that setting is turned off and has never been turned on. Obfuscations about a Page Notification Window don't apply, that page of options does not appear. I get regular popups from Firefox to "turn on notifications" and I never will. Why is there not an easy and straightforward way to disable these popups? You seem to hide them by their name, are they notifications?

These are the annoying unnecessary waste of time tasks that drive users away. It doesn't matter what enabled them in the first place, I didn't. My explicit choice about notifications is clear and you have no reason and no permission to popup anything on my screen to question that choice.

Your UI discussions around, "it's OK if we do this for [reason], right?" needs to be modified to "for what specific purpose would we popup a question a user must answer, and how will the user react?" This is basic software design and it's really sad to see you fail this badly.

When I open WhatsApp Web in Firefox on my Android phone, it shows a message saying “WhatsApp works with Mozilla Firefox 115+” and asks me to update Firefox or use another browser. I want to use WhatsApp Web with Firefox. Please help me fix this issue.

So when I start to type `dis` in the URL bar to bring up Discord (yes, I use the Web version), I've started to see `Manage AI Controls`. This makes no sense to me. I have all those set to block. And `dis` doesn't appear at all anywhere in that setting title. Yet when I start typing in `ai`, that setting doesn't come up.

Something is fishy here.

My question is - is there a way to make the AI Chatbot text on the left-panel of Firefox bigger? I have already use zoom on the browser but it only make the text on the browser bigger but not the left-panel...

I have Thunderbird installed on a linux o/s running Zorin 18.1 the version of thunderbird is shown in uploaded images. I wish to export everything in my profile to a folder which Evolution can access when asked to import. I then intend to delete Thunderbird and carry on with Evolution as my email app of choice. After several windows problems, I did a clean install with forgetting to sync or backup on my profile and lost a good bit of my bookmarks. However, I managed to retrieve some files, but they seem corrupted and after going through forums and several researches, I am unable to use them. I tried to look at the files and some of them turned to chinese and others have strange symbols in them. Thanks lovely people!
