I have several email accounts in Thunderbird where the email address no longer exists, at least on the specified IMAP server. Thunderbird is configured to not attempt automatically getting mail for these.

I had used Thunderbird 102 on Windows 10 for years, and in that version, my mail was kept in Thunderbird for those accounts (though whenever I opened any folder in them, I was somewhat annoyingly prompted to enter my credentials since the connection to the server was failing). To copy my profile folder to a new Linux installation, I updated Thunderbird to 153.5.1esr, the same version running on Linux, as Flatpak. My mail is still kept in Thunderbird on Windows, but with the same profile on Linux, Thunderbird "hid" all folders from the offline email accounts (apart from an "Inbox" folder that is shown as empty): the files are still there in the profile directory, and Thunderbird seems to find relevant emails in search, but opening them leads to a "No mail found" screen, and there is no way to access this mail from the folder pane. How can I make Thunderbird see my mail again?

As if that was not enough, on a whim I decided to attempt the "Repair folder" option on my Windows instance of Thunderbird, where the folders were still being shown normally. I immediately regretted not having made a backup of my profile (I only have one from version 102, where the data was apparently stored rather differently), since this just deleted all mail in the selected folder entirely, with the relevant file in the profile directory being empty. (The file seems to be somewhat different on Linux too, since copying it back to the Windows profile did not restore the mail in Thunderbird, and I would probably have to copy my Thunderbird 102 backup into an install of Thunderbird 102 and manually upgrade to my/the newest version to get it back.)

I know local folders would never be deleted like this, but there does not even seem to be an option to move an entire mailbox into a local folder, other than manually. It does not appear like Thunderbird has proper support for mailboxes that are no longer available. It would be undesirable to have all my mail in some new mailbox lost in the same way after I lose access to it. (Local folders would not really help in this situation either, unless you plan out exactly when your mailbox goes offline.)

I posted a question and found it wasn't a firefox problem but think it had to do with Linux. I wanted to delete the question so as not to waste people's time, but didn't see how to do that.

I have a lot of very important info in the Notes extension of Firefox. Suddenly, everyhting has changed. I cannot find my notes and I need them. Is there anyway to get the Notes extension to show again or at least recover the data?

Hello ! I'm confronted to a very weird behavior of Firefox, on Ubuntu 24.04.

When I'm clicking on a link in a mail of pdf document, the page opens in Firefox, I can navigate and click in it but when I try to type something (for instance to enter my id to connect), the keyboard does not consider I'm in Firefox but still in the previous application (Thunderbird etc). To be able to type something in Firefox, I need to go back to another window (alt tab) then go back to Firefox manually...

This also occurs if Firefox hides the other application on the screen. Note that from the colors of the windows (the tone of grey), I looks like that Firefox is the active window and no longer Thunderbird.

I tried to summary this in the following image.

Attachment Hello, For the past few days, when composing a new message, it has no longer been possible to attach a file by clicking on "attachment." With thunderbird I have tidied up my e-mails at server at googlemail.com yesterday ?!

I have deleted 50 percent of "all-inbox" and of "sent messages".

This means that - before this - 12,9 GB of memory at googlemail.com were used. Now it should be at about 6 GB of memory used actually ?!

In thunderbird-window below it is said that 12.9 GB of memory are still used ?!

Normally it should be at 6 GB of memory are now used ?

Thunderbird says still "storage is 85 percent full" ?!

Have I to wait some days until memory usage is actualized ?

Running CachyOS Linux distro on an external ssd. Both computers I boot have similar hardware: 8GB RAM, very similar intel CPU, and I've been booting without problems.

I login in Google's account at laptop 1, when booting on computer 2, the account gets disconnected (I still can see it in the Google accounts list as *disconnected*). This is annoying because I don't have my phone there for 2FA.

I don't know if that's a Firefox issue, and sometimes it doesn't happen. But I'd like to know why it's happening.

The option "Edit as New Message" is only available when a user right-clicks on the body of an email.

The option is not available in the menu displayed from the "More" button on an email. The option is also not available in the right-click menu on an email in a mailbox list. The option is only available in the right-click menu from the body of an email.

Requiring a user to use the right-click option in a specific area of the user interface is an accessibility issue which should be fixed.

I used to get advertisements displayed, but since my latest version of Firefox was installed, none are allowed, and there are some sites I access that depend on adverts for their funding, so I cannot access those sites unless I accept adverts. Adverts should not be blocked globally with no way to undo it, if this continues I will have to switch to another browser.

Yahoo changed everything and I can find anything. Is there any way to get back my classic Yahoo. I would like to keep my Yahoo email because it is linked to everything. I fix most problems but it seems like everyday there is another missing part of the old classic Yahoo.

I'm using Mozilla Flatpak 158.0.1 on Bazzite. My user profile is stored in a non-standard path that I granted access to Firefox with Flatseal.

Everything works fine, I can even access the synchronized tabs from my other computers using the "Show tabs from other devices" menu button, but for some reason the very same functionality in the side-panel is broken (see screenshot).

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I have no idea why.
