How can I make Firefox for Android show a window after clicking a download link with a selection of the application through which the link should be opened? I had this after selecting the "manage downloads using another application" option, but I messed something up and now Firefox downloads the file immediately.

I use Thunderbird to receive my GMails. In Thunderbird I place emails in different folders with no problem. After a while I wish to delete some of them I no longer wish to retain. I use the delete function and they go into the delete folder. In the previous version of Thunderbird you were able to Empty the deleted folder and it would feed back and delete them from Gmail as well. In the current version I cannot find where to do this. I need to do this because of the number there are and storage problems. How do I do this please?

When trying to open a link through my email I get an error links were able to be opened before now for the past two days they will not open and they are opening when we try manually through the different browsers like chrome or edge but not when clicked on the link from the email.

my pc os updated to win 11, browser keeps asking to set firefox as default I have done this several times; in win11 app setting screen; so is it a bug in browser or in win 11, I will hit the ignore option. This is a FYI to Mozilla team. Artwin Sturnacle, asturnacle@msn.com

My gmail password was changed outside of Thunderbird, and now I can't access my Thunderbird account. What must I do? Do I need to create a whole new account?

Your system has now blocked me from accessing Jacquie Larson e-card site to receive or send e-cards. Today it blocked me from opening my statement from Edward Jones. Both of these are sites I have used for years and do not pose a threat to my computer. How do I get rid of this aggressive blocking and get back to reaching these websites?

Hello! I recently used the function to create my own theme for the browser, after a few months I wanted to install another theme (not a custom one, but from the store) and encountered the problem that after re-entering the application my custom theme returns, but another one is specified in the settings, and so after each re-entry. On my Xfinity login, I have multiple folders to sort email into. When I installed eMClient, those folders were automatically created and are kept in sync across all clients.

When I installed TB, the folders did not appear.

Is there a way to make them appear and to be synced with Xfinity?

Is there a particular setting that needs to be/can be made so that email deleted from TB install on one PC also deletes from an install on another PC, on the Android app, and via the Xfinity email website login?

Hello, I synced all my gmails to thunderbird (many). When I tried to archived some messages, I found they are in my main inbox. The all mail folder does not contain them. I am trying to restore allmail to contain everything. Thunderbird keeps crashing, it seems like it is crushed by the load of my messages. Further, the archived messages are now missing from my gmail account. Please help! Thank you, Steve

I have been trying to migrate all my accounts to maildir, but Export/Import doesn't work.

Even after I ensure that the old profile is backed up in another location and deleted from the previous path, and then I try "/mac path/thunderbird -P" and the first thing I do is set "maildir" as the storage for new accounts in settings.

After that, I imported (only accounts and settings) from the backed-up profile .zip, but the mail store type per account gets overridden by the old profile, it seems, and is set to "mbox" (uneditable).

Is there a way to retain the settings except for the mail store type? I am fine with entering every password again; I just hope to not have to do all the config again (settings for subscribe, junk, etc… and… what not) again for all those accounts.

Can I do it via prefs.js, etc.? If so, will I have to modify something in those files? What files will be needed?

We have an email on one of our computers that was removed and when that computer starts up it tries to access our website and then our web host blocks our IP address. If it tries to access our web site more than 5 times in 3600 seconds we get our IP address blocked.

I have looked everywhere in that computer to try and find where the culprit email is located, but I have found nothing.

We are running version 140.2 on Widows 10. I really don't want to reinstall Windows, but!! A,d I have been working on this for 3 weeks and it took me 2 weeks to locate the computer that was getting me blocked. Our IP address has unblocked at lest 20 times.

I still get all my messages and everything seems to work correctly but when I open my inbox I get this message I have a huge amount of free disk space, and I empty my inbox and spam daily, so I don't understand this: "The folder on inbox ruthjh@gmail.com cannot be compacted because writing to inbox failed." The only problem that shows up is that occasionally I don't instantly get the subject line but keep the one I had clicked before.

I downloaded thunderbird on my android phone, and imported settings from my laptop. My personal gmail account has been working fine. However, my school microsoft online account has not been able to send emails. it can receive emails, but whenever I try to send an email, it just stays in outbox gives an error message:

Failed to send some messages Authentication unsuccessful [BL1PR13CA0340.namprd13.prod.outlook.com 2025-09-01T13:04:36.305Z 08DDE84F8D3B37FC]

or

Authentication failed Authentication failed for [my email]. Update your server settings.

Given that the smtp server settings are exactly the same as on my laptop since I imported from there, I don't know what to change to fix this issue.
