two errors.

1. the folder the guardian on myemailaddress@gmail.com could not be found, so filters associated with this folder will be disabled. Verify that the folder exists, and the filters point to a valid destination folder

2.ditto....different folder....Linux.org on myemailadress etc etc.

In my research I came across a suggestion to alter the mozilla database : impa.gmail.com ....to....imap.googlemail.com I could not find the mozilla database, so I opened Account Settings/server settings, and changed the server name from : imap.gmail.com ....to... imap.googlemail.com

I need to receive emails to my email address destined for the two folders in question...Linux.org and the guardian....which I will definately have from Linux .org in the next few hours, and from the guardian maybe sometime this afternoon and if not definitely by 7:15am tomorrow morning. The time as i type this is 10:56am...guardian mail has already been received for today

If you have any alternative solution/thought, I will be most pleased to hear from you.

if my 'solution" works then this is definitely a google problem, not Thunderbird......but as usual thunderbird and others will be left to clean up their mess.

Edit to Add: I re enabled the Linux.org filter, and also changed its name from Info@Linux.org, to linux.org....and so far there is not another error thrown when I click on 'run now' in message filters....and the same applies to the guardian. Fingers Crossed !

After closing, tabs that were open aren't restored as they used to be.

I've read several replies to people asking how to get TB to restore the open tabs, and none of them seem to be solutions. I don't want to use tags, or anything other than for the behaviour that was there and that was useful, to be reinstated.

The only question is:

how to make TB restore open tabs after exiting the software?

I keep receiving notifications I've already dealt with, specifically from Youtube, as of writing this is the third day I've had to deal with them.

The notifications pop up inconsistently, anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour, but when they do pop up, it's a barrage of every notification I've already read since it began.

This may be an issue with Youtube itself or Windows, I don't know.

Taskbar icon does not indicate when new mail has arrived. Does not show a count of new/unread messages. 128.3.2 Windows 11

In settings "incoming mail" icon options I have chosen "show count of new emails" and "show a tray icon for unread messages is checked".

I am unable to tell at a glance if new email has arrived. I see from researching the KB I'm not the only to have this issue, but none of the settings seem to help.

I have used Firefox for email, web browsing etc for many years without issue, until about 2 weeks ago. I was using gmail to send an email and a small attachment would not fully upload (locking up at 75%). I looked at gmail help and the recommendation was to flush cookies and cache. I did this and have had problems ever since. GMail: Connecting to gmail is a hit or miss affair - it mostly does not work at all but on rare occasions it does connect. If it does load it is very slow, often I cannot change tabs or access labels. I cannot switch inboxes to other accounts. I mostly cannot send emails (though very occasionally I can). When trying to switch accounts it mostly just says something went wrong but once or twice it has brought up the list of accounts but I cannot select one. I can rarely send an email - it is very slow, it says working but mostly nothing happens. Sometimes an Oops 01 error message appears. I have not been able to attach a file to any email I have tried to send. I am seem to be receiving emails without issue. [Gmail mostly works on Chrome but sometimes I have trouble sending].

Google Search: When I use Google as a search engine I often get only a white screen but it will sometimes bring up a screen of search results however when I click on the link either nothing happens or it is really slow to load the page - once the page loads navigating around the site is normal.

I have no issues when using Duck Duck Go or if I type the address into the address bar or it is a book marked site.

YouTube: I can rarely connect to Youtube using Firefox - it mostly just sits at a white screen with the address in the address bar but nothing happening. If it does connect it is incredibly slow at searching or changing screens. I often get a message saying I am not connected to the internet but I am because I have other things open and operating.

Google docs: I cannot access google docs using Firefox but can using Chrome.

I have no issues with online gaming or streaming sites. It seems to be only google related services that are giving me grief.

I've been attempting to import my bookmarks from Chrome on Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS. When I try to use the bookmark importer, it tells me "Firefox couldn’t find any programs that contain bookmark, history or password data." No problem, I exported my Chrome bookmarks to an HTML file. I go through the steps the wizard takes me through, and in the end I am greeted with a friendly "Bookmarks Imported Successfully." However, no bookmarks have actually been imported! Restarting Firefox does not help.

All of a sudden yesterday 10/14/24, my email keeps saying not responding and freezes for at least 30 seconds before it will let me do anything. I publish two mediawiki sites. http://wikidelphia.org and http://othernetworks.org

Both show up just fine for other people and for me when I access them with other browsers.

My problem occurs when I use Firefox to work on OtherNetworks. I'm going to try attaching screen shots of the Main Page. The first is from a normal view of my main page taken with another browser. In this shot the graphic is on the right

The second one is the same page taken with Firefox as the browser. I can't even figure out how to describe what is wrong with that second display.

I'm wishing for someone to figure out what is going on here and tell me how to restore FireFox so I can use it to work on my website. Is there some setting in Firefox or in the OtherNetworks site that is causing the awkward layout when using Firefox. I'm rather dependent on the bookmarks in Firefox.

Hi I decided to donate so I could get rid of the automatic start of my browser showing the request for donation screen whenever I open Thunderbird. Even though I received the confirmation that I successfully donated, I still get the annoying request for donation. How do I stop the auto load of the browser?

I have a filter that has been working for years (Windows 10). It is now failing on the first step which is "Save Message as File." When I look at the directory that is supposed to contain the message the name is there but it has 0 length. I don't see anything new or unusual in the message before the save. How can I debug this? TIA>

I have been using Thunderbird for quite a few years. Two weeks ago I started getting a message saying : "login to server imap.comcast.net with username ...... failed."

I have changed settings to "html only" for outgoing messages, and i've taken down my security settings, and i've selected the "add link previews when pasting URL's" setting. however, i still can't see the normal thumbnail or the youtube "play video" box when i embed a youtube video link. any assistance would be greatly appreciated! thank you!

Thunderbird Highlighted Text Problem After an update of the Thunderbird email program, the text now remains black in a highlighted areas on my main PC. (See Screenshot 1) That makes it difficult to read the text, especially because the blue highlight is actually a bit darker than shown in the screenshot. How can the text be changed back to white in the highlighted area?

I checked the Thunderbird email in my backup PC and the text in highlighted areas is still white. (See Screenshot 2) Most likely that PC’s Thunderbird program missed getting updated because the PC gets seldom turned on.

After the update to Thunderbird 128.3.1esr on October 10th I can no longer download my email. What did they change and when do they plan to fix it? The broken email is causing a financial burden on my company. Please help!
