I just went to open Thunderbird and window popped up to setup email account. I have been using this for years. what the hell happened to my program for email? who has the time on checking email to set everything up again? Why wouldn't we be warned this was coming? Do I really have to set up all of my accounts again? What happened to my stored emails and folders that were setup? I am assuming the program updated, but honestly this pisses me off and makes me want to switch clients after decades of use.

Hello

I'm running Thunderbird 102.11.0 with Gnome 44.1 and the Wayland windowing system on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed. The first time I launch the application after a restart it always hangs with a blank window titled "Home - Mozilla Thunderbird". The same thing happens whether I launch the application using the shell or the desktop icon. If I close the blank window and try again then the application always launches correctly on the second attempt.

This issue started about 4-6 weeks ago before that I never had any problems launching Thunderbird.

Any ideas on how I can debug this?

Cheers Norman

Phone and Firefox up to date. This is NOT immediately after iOS update nor after a Firefox update. I have settings confirmed that should keep me in private browsing. Triple checked this. Even uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and reestablished proper settings.

I’ll be browsing in a private browser, will re-open Firefox and SOMETIMES, not always, I’ll be in a non-private browser.

What gives??

Radio buttons on some websites neither display nor update when the area in which is should have displaed is clicked. FireFox 113.0.2 (64-bit) on Mac OS X 10.13.6 (High Sierra). This problem has been present for some time. On other websites the radio buttons do display and do upate when clicked by toggling the dark center. The minority of websites which don't work seems random, but does include some banking websites and the IRS.gov website. Often using SAFARI will work when FireFox doesn't.

The CheckBox at the end of this page "Email me when someone answers the thread" appears but does not respond to a click.

Can't get it to stop asking, which is made worse by the fact that nothing is selected to prompt it nor is anything stored for it to use.

Hello everyone.

I've been using Firefox for quite a few years now and I'm used to keep my pinned tabs open after closing and then opening a Firefox windows.

Yesterday I noticed that after closing the navigator with the "X" in the tool bar menu, as I usually do, the pinned tabs are not "recovered" when opening again.

This happened randomly without configuration changes involved and drivers/firefox are updated to the last version available.

Moreover, I've tested the same in my notebook and it works just fine, as it keeps the tabs open when a new window is open.

Is there any troubleshooting for this or do you have any idea what could have caused this to happen?

Let me know if you need any additional info. Thanks in advance!

I have a website that open pop-ups automatically using javascript. That is the expected behaviour of it. So I went into Firefox options and made an exception for that site. If I go to the site and wait so it can do its thing, it opens about a few of them, and then Firefox decides that the rule I have set up is garbage, and firefox decides to ignore it and block the pop-ups from the site.

Why?

Why on Earth does Firefox decides that he must do something against the rule that the user has set up. Why does it have this completely disrespect to the user settings?

I am honestly really mad at whoever decided that ignoring an exception from the user was the default behaviour.

Now, if someone knows enough what is going on they will tell me, go to about:config, go to this obscure command and change its value, value which I can't know without coming here and ask. If I create an exception, then I am in my right to expect that the browser should do exactly as the exception has been configured.

By the way I have tried with the troubleshooting mode and still happens.

I have been searching far and wide for an answer and am stuck here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1368273

This solution doesn't work for Thunderbird 102.11.0 because there is no OTHER WRITING SYSTEMS. I have set LATIN on font and size, composition is set to HTML. Variable width is set, but if I change this to a specific font, it still shows something different than the font I've used to compose, so it doesn't seem to help.

Sent files show Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit

Why is it so hard? I want my sent files to look like my composed files as much as possible. For example, if I use a serif font to compose, I want a similar or, if available, identical serif font, for readers if they use HTML as well. Thx in advance.

I have used Thunderbird with a POP3 account for years - it has become a large, handy, easily searched database of important information. MY ISP has forced me into Microsoft Office which doesn't support Thunderbird and, annoyed, I've jumped to Proton, which will allow me to continue with Thunderbird and to download my emails. My question is this:

Now that my old email address is no longer supported, Thunderbird goes nuts throwing up a constant message about not being able to connect. How do I stop this without deleting the actual account? (because if I do, I delete the entire database of emails associated with the account.). I just want to disable it so that it doesn't try to connect. And then I will simply add in my Proton email and carry on from there. At the moment, I get the message: "Log in to account "..." failed." and then three buttons - Enter new password, Cancel, Retry - but it doesn't stay concelled. It just keeps nagging me. And if I go into account settings, it won't let me disable the SMTP.

Hello,

I am a developer on an emergency intervention hotline for sexual assault.

Firefox is now throwing up psuedo-modal advertisements for it's VPN above pages. See attached screenshot for example.

It is absolutely IMPERATIVE that our visitors do not receive these new modal advertisements that Firefox is throwing at them. What can I do to prevent Firefox's new browser-hijacking advertisements from showing up on our hotline pages?

I experienced this on Twitter, and it 100% was not part of the dom. It also greyed out the tab bar, and prevented me from opening the menu with alt. I know how to make it not show up anymore on my machine, but how can I prevent it from appearing on visitors to my website, who are in some of the most vulnerable times of their life.

Is there a way or can you provide a way to tell Thunderbird to re-import a message?
