Most of my searches on web draw a blank screen on browser; this is something new.

I downloaded the latest Firefox a few days ago and started to get blank screed on browser inquiries. Reloaded a 7.1.1. & blank screens continued. Sites do come up when I use 'Bookmarks', but 'Search' mostly doesn't work. For instance, I type in 'ipod' and get blank, or 'white zombie' and get blank; however, I do get a list of variations on request, but they all draw blank.
