I can see you really give a rat's rear. Beta of Firefox 4??? You're kidding right?

Why should I bother since you don't seem to realize that Firefox is on the 5th edition? Your keyboard shortcuts crash everything I'm doing leaving me with no clue how it happened except knowing that my fingers slipped and hit an unknown combination of keys. Then I jump to a new web page and all the data I've entered is lost forever. What a joke! Opera here I come.

I have to ask for more information.

  1. What key combination did you use and what exactly happened?
  2. What did you expect to happen instead?
  3. What do you want to do with the keyboard shortcuts to make Firefox more comfortable for use?

That's just it. I have no idea what keys I touched. My palm hit either the alt ket, the control key or the Windows key or the space key and my little finger hit one of a half a dozen keys. That's the problem. This has happened many, many times and I still have no idea why it happens. I've tried to reproduce it. No luck. What I want is for nothing to happen because of shortcut keys you have installed. I suspect it might be a combination of the alt key and the arrow keys causing the web page to go back or advance but those aren't the only things I've seen happen. I also have new tabs open and tonight I had some search window open. I've been typing for almost 40 years. I have RA. Typing perfectly is not in the cards for me these days. When I get tired my palms tend to drop and when they do I end up with a wide variety of key combinations that do all sorts of things.

Clearly you didn't read my first post where I said "unknown combination of keys". Try actually reading my sentences if you want my help fixing your program because at this point I won't be using it much longer.

Aha you want to disable ALL keyboard shortcuts, I'll see what I can do about that.

By the way, to understand that better, does Opera have no shortcuts?

KingGhidora,
Alt plus an arrow key could have caused your problem - they will do page back or page forward

Tried to help me???? He/she/it tried to tell me I was stupid because I should have expected the program to do what it did. He/she/it completely ignored the part about "unknown combination of keys" and instead acted as if I had deliberately set out to attempt to get this program to act a certain way. But obviously I was so stupid I didn't know that I was using the wrong combination. You're not selling me that line of bull "the". You think I haven't been around long enough to read between the lines and predict what was coming? Where's your lecture to he/she/it about being rude? "What did I expect to happen?" If you don't understand that is an insult you aren't very smart sir. He/she/it totally ignored my actual comments then tried to pin the blame on me for being too stupid to use the hot keys the correct way. The problem is there should not be any hot keys of this nature at all. All keyboards have the alt, ctrl, and Windows keys right under your palm and it's a very common thing to hit them accidentally while typing. And when you get hot key actions as a result of touching those function keys in combination with another key you get all sorts of strange things going on. I told you that I got a search window. I told you, "...tonight I had some search window open." That isn't a combination of the alt key and an arrow key. I have no idea what it is. Like I said I can't reproduce it. Yet when he/she/it infers it was me trying to get some key to work which I must have done wrongly then he/she/it is very clearly insulting me. So where's your warning to he/she/it?

This isn't the only page I found where people have problems with this program and it's hotkeys. I followed a link to start a new thread from that other page. This isn't me trying to use the hotkeys incorrectly and I resent the implication that it was. I should have known that no one would ever admit fault. Instead I get smart ass remarks about whether Opera has hotkeys. So you can take your program and your warning and he/she/it's insults and cram them up whatever you have to cram them in.
