I usually use the ctrl+d to bookmarks, but when I hit it open the pop-up with "Name", "Folder" and "Tags". I wan't to know if it's possible to add the "Keywork" box here too.

The simple question is: Is possible to customize the bookmark popup box?

With the Add Bookmark Here 2 extension, you can choose what shows on the Bookmark dialog. After adding ABH2 and restarting Firefox, Tools > Add-ons > Extensions, click ABH2, click Options, click on "Panel" tab and check the items you want to be on the dialog. The dialog is also larger than the default Firefox Bookmark dialog. In my opinion, this is how the Firefox Bookmark dialog should be.

  2. Update Adobe Reader (PDF plugin):
    • From within your existing Adobe Reader (if you have it already installed):
      • Open the Adobe Reader program from your Programs list
      • Click Help > Check for Updates
      • Follow the prompts for updating
      • If this method works for you, skip the "Download complete installer" section below and proceed to "After the installation" below
    • Download complete installer (if you do NOT have Adobe Reader installed):
      • Use the links below to avoid getting the troublesome "getplus" Adobe Download Manager and other "extras" you may not want
      • Use Firefox to download and SAVE the installer to your hard drive from the appropriate link below
      • Click "Save to File"; save to your Desktop (so you can find it)
      • After download completes, close Firefox
      • Click the installer you just downloaded and allow the install to continue
        • Note: Vista and Win7 users may need to right-click the installer and choose "Run as Administrator"
      • Download link: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/
        • Choose your OS
        • Choose the latest #.x version (example 9.x, for version 9)
        • Choose the highest number version listed
          • NOTE: 10.x is the new Adobe Reader X (Windows and Mac only as of this posting)
        • Choose your language
        • Download the file, SAVE it to your hard drive, when complete, close Firefox, click on the installer you just downloaded and let it install.
        • Windows: choose the .exe file; Mac: choose the .dmg file
    • Using either of the links below will force you to install the "getPlus" Adobe Download Manager. Also be sure to uncheck the McAfee Scanner if you do not want the link forcibly installed on your desktop
    • After the installation, start Firefox and check your version again.
  3. Update the Java plugin to the latest version.

Hi dennisaltermann,

I'm afraid this is currently not possible, unless of course you RMB click on your bookmark and and edit it. There might be an add-on available to fix this, but again, I'm not sure about that.

If you want to see this as a feature in upcoming Firefox versions, you could always request it by using Hendrix (http://hendrix.mozilla.org/) and submitting a request.

Regards, Ziggy

Hello and thanks for the answer. Already try to search for some add-on for that, without sucess. Isn't something very important, but it's something will save some seconds of my life everyday.

Thanks anyway, I will try to make this request for sure.

ByeBye

@Helper7677

Really Thanks, this was exactly what I needed and is working fine in Firefox 4 Beta 8.

I will look at other issues you just pointed, thanks.

You are welcome.

There is a new testing version of ABH2 (a pre-release version) for Firefox 4betas.

  • I have not installed it in my Firefox 4b8
  • Note the it has not been reviewed by Mozilla Add-ons group.
  • Scroll all the way to the end of the ABH2 page, click "View all versions", it is at the top of the list. Read the few changes made.

Here is the English support link on the Mozillazine forum for ABH2: https://forums.mozilla.org/addons/viewtopic.php?t=1455
