Automatic page refresh on website -- happens on Firefox for Windows, not for Mac

One of my permanent tabs, www.nytimes.com, automatically refreshes the page every so often (5-10 minutes) when using the Windows version. However, the page remains static in the MacOS version -- the only way to update the page is to do so manually. I've looked for a setting, thinking maybe I set up something differently on the two browsers, but can't find anything. If it's not me, it would be great if the Mac version auto-refreshed the page just like the Windows version does!
