Firefox says it is "up to date" with 115.24.0esr, but Vanguard still says my browser is not supported. What do I do? I have already manually downloaded ESR 15 as my macbook is using 10.13.6. This is supposed to be good until August 1, 2025.

Today, when I went onto Vanguard, at the top of page it said my browser is not supported. However, Firefox says it is "up to date." It had already been changed to 115.24.0esr, as my macbook uses 10.13.6 High Sierra. Firefox says I am good and supported until August 1, 2025, but I am still getting the non-support message on the Vanguard site. Who is right?

I guess you could say that everyone is right. You have the highest version of Firefox build for Mac OS 10.13, but it is based on the Firefox 115 release from July 4, 2023, so it does not have the latest web technologies, so some websites may discourage you from using it (or block you out).

One option is to set Firefox to lie about your Firefox version number. This might fool some sites. Here's how:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox. The moderators would like us to remind you that changes made through this back door aren't fully supported.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste forceVersion and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the network.http.useragent.forceVersion preference to display an editing field, and change the value to 128 then press Enter/Return or click the blue check mark button to save the change.

If you try the problem site again in a new tab, does it still give you the same message, or does something else happen now?
