i can't seem to adjust the width of the bookmarks menu display

I recently expanded the width of the bookmarks menu to the maximum; now I can't narrrow it

It is possible to close it with the x at the top right of the toolbar. It is also possible to reset, however I would recommend Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles
