I've searched in the Marketplace for the WhatsApp and realised that it is not availble. I try googling for more information confirmed that firefox OS doesnt have the most using buddy of the world. I was looking out are the techies working on developing or getting one from facebook it self ( as we have fb availble) is better, please advise me when people get it . Also I'm looking for the Temple Run 2 game.

Chosen solution

I can confirm that there is no official WhatsApp app available, and I have never heard of any official plan from Facebook to release it.

Though, there are many istant messaging apps already supporting the WhatsApp network. You may try some of these.

(I could list some of these apps, but this would be unfair as I cannot list all of them. They are quite easy to find anyway.)

If we really want FF OS to picked up widely we must support most popular application, millions of people like me would not pay penny even for a Best OS which does not support popular applications (no matter if other substitute are available, because everyone doesn't use line/fb messenger to whom you want to chat) or which I would be using on any other OS. in short OS are used to run applications At the end of the day!! Anyways all the very best and good luck!

Hi Qualityking,

I understand your frustration and the need to have popular applications available in our app ecosystem.

Unfortunately, the only people that can make an official application like Whatsapp for Firefox OS, are the Whatsapp developers themselves.

In the meantime, Mozilla keeps outreaching to third-party companies and developers to get the most popular applications available for Firefox OS. Please keep in mind that Firefox OS is barely 1-year old. =)
