Your Firefox Sync Key is a long series of characters that was created for you when when you set up your Sync account. This article shows you how to find your Sync Key and explains why you have one in the first place.
Where can I find my Firefox Sync Key?
Do these steps in Firefox on a computer that already has your Sync account set up.
- In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click and select (select on older macOS versions).Click the menu button

A window displaying your Sync Key will open.It's a good idea to print or save your Sync Key so that you can access your information even when you are away from this computer. and then choose My Sync Key.
What is the Sync Key used for?
The Sync KeyRecovery Key is used to encrypt your data before it's sent to the Mozilla servers. Think of it as a key that locks your information in a vault that only you can open. This means that neither Mozilla nor anyone else can read your information without having your Sync KeyRecovery Key to unlock it.
