Advertisers and third parties use email trackers to collect information about your interaction with marketing emails. Most of these trackers are hidden in links, images or attachments contained in the body of the emails they send you. Trackers detect and tell the sender when or if an email was opened, as well as the user's email client and IP address. This information is typically used to measure the effectiveness of their marketing campaigns or to build a profile of you based on the content you engage with.
