A theme is a type of Firefox add-on which changes the visual appearance of Firefox. This article describes how to find, install and manage themes in Firefox.

What are themes?

A theme changes the appearance of Firefox, such as the color scheme and background image of the toolbars.

Note: All themes for Firefox version 57 and above are lightweight (background) themes. Complete themes are no longer supported. See Built-in themes in Firefox - alternative to complete themes.

How to install themes

  1. Click the menu button Fx57menu , click Fx57Addons-icon Add-ons and select Get Add-onsRecomendations or Themes.
  2. Scroll through the suggested themes or visit addons.mozilla.org to browse more themes.
    • Click on the theme's author to see more information about it.
  3. To install a theme, click the + Install Theme button.

    • To install a theme from addons.mozilla.org, click on the theme and select the + Install Theme button on the resulting page.

  4. Firefox will download the requested theme and may notify you that it has been installed.

How to switch themes

When several themes are installed:

  1. Click the menu button Fx57menu , click Fx57Addons-icon Add-ons and select Themes.
  2. Select a theme in the list.
  3. Click the ellipsis (3-dot) icon and then select the Enable button.

How to remove themes

When several themes are installed:

  1. Click the menu button Fx57menu , click Fx57Addons-icon Add-ons and select Themes.
  2. Select a theme in the list.
  3. Click the ellipsis (3-dot) icon and then select the Remove button.
