Learn how Firefox’s unload tabs feature helps reduce memory usage on your computer.

You can unload tabs you are not actively using to help reduce memory and CPU usage, while keeping your tabs available to revisit later. When you unload a tab, it remains visible but doesn’t use resources in the background. When you're ready to return to it, Firefox will reload the page automatically.
