This feature is available on pre-release versions of Firefox, which you can download here for testing.

Picture-in-picture view lets you watch videos in a floating window so you can continue watching even when you switch windows. Firefox gives you controls for turning picture-in-picture view on or off when you hover over a video. If you don’t want to see the controls while hovering, you can hide that option in Firefox. (Note: You can still control picture-in-picture view if you right-click on the video).

  1. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox and then select Preferences or Settings, depending on your macOS version.Click the menu button Fx89menuButton and select Settings.
  2. Scroll down to the Browsing section.
  3. Put a check mark next to “Enable picture-in-picture” video controls.
The image "picture in picture" does not exist.
