The Text Encoding menu item was removed from the Firefox menu The image "Fx89MenuButton" does not exist. panel in Firefox version 89. Instead, you can use the Menu bar, when the Menu bar is enabled, by clicking and selecting from the drop-down menu. You can press and release the Alt key to temporarily show the Menu bar.
Firefox version 91 introduces a new "Repair Text Encoding" feature. There is no longer a sub-menu with a list of encoding choices. When the menu item is activated and you click on it, Firefox will automatically change the character encoding based on page content, when this is possible.
Tip: You can also customize your Firefox toolbar to add a button:
- Click the menu button

- A special tab will open, where you can drag and drop items in or out of the overflow menu and the toolbar.
