About SMS

SMS stands for "Short Message Service". You can learn more about it here.

Opening The SMS Application

To open the SMS application, tap sms app.

Once the SMS application has opened, your messages will be shown.

Create A New Message

To create a new message, tap Editmessages.

Once you do this, you will see two fields:

  • Recipient: Who you are sending the message to.
  • Message: The message you are sending.

The screenshot shown below is the recipient field.

There are 2 ways to enter the recipient's information.

  • Manually
  • From your contacts

You can enter the phone number of the recipient manually into the recipient field.

You can also choose the recipient from your contacts by tapping addcontact.

In the message field, enter the message you would like to send.

Once you have finished typing your message, tap the Sendbutton button to send it.

You will be taken to a thread that contains all messages from/to the specified contact. Beside your sent messages you may see a spinning circle (Sending Icon). The spinning circle lets you know that the message is being sent.

New Message Notifications

The following is a screenshot of the notification bar that is located at the top of the phone.

To see notifications for new messages, tap and hold onto the notification bar, drag it down and then select the new message notification.

View Your Messages

You can view your sent and received messages by tapping on sms app. From there, you will be taken to your messages.

Tap the message in the list that you would like to view, and you will be taken to the thread of sent and received messages.

Delete Your Messages

  1. To delete unwanted messages, tap Delete Message.
  2. Select which message threads to delete by tapping Deletion Icon.
    Select Delete means that the message is selected.
  3. When you are ready to delete the selected messages, tap Deletemessage.

After tapping on Deletemessage, you will be prompted to confirm the deletion. Confirmationmessage

  • To confirm, tap the OK button.
  • To cancel, tap the Cancel button.
Tip: To set your notifications for messages, go to your settings.
