This article describes a new feature available in Firefox version 66.

Firefox lets you find a specific tab when you have a lot of tabs open:

  1. Click the List all tabs button in the tab bar.
    list all tabs 66
  2. Click Search Tabs in the menu that opens.
    search tabs 66

You can also find specific tabs using the address bar.

  1. Type a % before of after your search to filter the results to only open tabs

Before query:

search_tabs_in_address_bar

After query:

search_tabs_in_address_bar_in_query

See the Address bar autocomplete in Firefox article for more options available in the address bar.
