Firefox for iOS has a QR code reader to allow a user to load a webpage or search for words from a QR code. This article will show you how to scan a QR code.

  1. Tap the menu button at the bottom of the screen. (You might need to scroll all the way to the top of the page for the menu button to appear).
  2. Tap the Scan QR Code icon in the menu panel at the bottom of the screen. (You might need to swipe to the next panel first.)

Don't see a menu button? You might be on an older version of Firefox. Please update to the latest version through the App Store.

Firefox for iOS will automatically open the iOS camera for scanning QR codes. Please position your QR code so that it is aligned within the frame outlined by the four blue guidelines. Firefox will automatically scan the QR code once it detects proper alignment. ffios-ios-camera-qr-code-scanner

  • After scanning, if the QR code is a web address the page will be opened.
  • If words instead of a web address show up after scanning, Firefox for iOS will search for those words using your default search engine.
