We have received reports of malware and we are trying to track these fake updates down. There are few things you can do to help us stop these fake updates from affecting other users. The best we can do about this is to work together to report the urls and look for the source url of the download.
What you can do if you spot malware
- Never save and open/run unsolicited files!
- Report the web forgeries to the Google Web Forgery site.
What you can do to prevent malware on your computer
- Run a malware scan on your computer to make sure your computer was not infected. (See Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware.)
- Avoid downloads from unreliable sources in the future.
To learn more about malware
Although we cannot prevent every server from giving you malware, knowing how to recognize and report it helps us keep the Internet open and safer.
