This article only applies to users of Firefox on Windows.

Directly after the update to Firefox 57.0.1, users with G DATA security software running on their system might be impacted by Firefox crashing repeatedly during startup.

Affected G DATA users should make sure that they have the latest available version of their security product installed, including all available signature updates.

As a temporary workaround, affected users can also disable the BankGuard component within their G DATA product:

  1. Go to the Settings panel of your G DATA product by clicking the cogwheel button G DATA settings icon in the user interface.
  2. Go to AntiVirus > Web protection in the G DATA Settings panel.
  3. Disable the BankGuard browser protection setting and click OK.
GDATA Disable BankGuard

Afterwards try launching Firefox again.
