Firefox 3.6.29 and Firefox 12 (April 24, 2012) are the last versions of Firefox that will work with Windows 2000. They won't be updated with security and stability fixes. To keep your computer and personal information safe, we recommend that you upgrade Windows and install the latest Firefox if possible. This article goes over your upgrade options.

Note: This article only applies to Windows.

Option 1: Upgrade Windows

Since Windows 2000 is no longer supported by Microsoft it's recommended that you upgrade to Windows 7 if possible. This is the most secure option and will allow you to run the latest and greatest Firefox.

Option 2: Switch to the Opera web browser

If you can't upgrade Windows, you can switch to the latest version of the Opera web browser.

Warning: Continuing to use Windows 2000 is no longer supported by Microsoft and poses a significant security risk.
