If you’re using AVG Internet Security, its certificate might be causing Firefox to ask you for a master password every time you start Firefox.
To resolve this problem, you must deactivate your master password and reactivate it:
- In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click and select (select on older macOS versions).Click the menu button
and select .
- Click Privacy & Security in the left panel.
- Under Logins and Passwords section, remove the checkbox next to Use a master password.
- Close Firefox.
- Repeat steps 1 through 2 above and reactivate a master password by selecting the checkbox next to Use a master password (use a previous or different password).
- Close Firefox.
When you reopen Firefox, it should not ask you for your master password again.
