There are many recommended add-ons that you can install to add features to Firefox. This article explains how to find, install and manage add-ons in Firefox for Android.

How do I find and install add-ons?

You can access the Android add-ons from inside Firefox for Android:

  1. Tap the menu button android menu icon
    Menu button - Template:menupreview
  2. Tap the Add-ons menu item.
  3. Here you can see a list of recommended add-ons.
  4. Tap on an add-on to learn more. To install it, tap on the + button.
  5. This will then show you the access that add-on requires.
Tap Add to start downloading the add-on.
    FenixInstallAddOn
  6. After installing the add-on, Firefox will give you the opportunity to enable it in private browsing. You can check mark Allow in private browsing now or enable it later (see below).
    FenixInstallAddOnFinish
  7. Tap Okay, Got it to finish.

How do I update, change options or remove add-ons?

Update your add-ons

When you update Firefox for Android, it will automatically update your add-ons to compatible versions if they're available.

Temporary disable or remove an add-on

You can access the Android add-ons from inside Firefox for Android:

  1. Tap the menu button android menu icon
    Menu button - Template:menupreview
  2. Tap the Add-ons menu item.
  3. Under Enabled is a list of what add-ons are currently active.

To disable: Toggle the Enabled slider to off.

To uninstall: Tap the Remove button.

Here you can also view/edit Settings, Details and Permissions for the add-on.

Enable add-ons in private browsing

  4. Tap the slider next to Run in private browsing to turn it on or off.
