Disable password saving in Firefox

If you’re using a shared device and don’t want Firefox to remember your passwords, you change your preferences in the settings:

  1. Click the menu button.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Privacy & Security in the panel to the left.
  4. Scroll down to the { menu Logins and Passwords} section.
  5. Uncheck the box next to Ask to save logins and passwords for websites.

Disable password saving for specific websites

You can also configure Firefox not to save passwords for specific websites. To add these exceptions:

  1. Click the menu button.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Privacy & Security in the panel to the left.
  4. Scroll down to the Logins and Passwords section.
  5. Click on Exceptions next to Ask to save logins and passwords for websites.
  6. Add the websites you don't want Firefox to save passwords for in this panel.
  7. Click Save changes.

We recommend users to create a Firefox account for each member of the family and to sign out every time to prevent their logins from being exposed.
