How do I change the device's name to identify the device during Bluetooth?

Rename your device on Firefox OS using the Settings app.

  1. Tap the Settings app and choose Bluetooth.

  2. Tap the Bluetooth toggle switch to enable Bluetooth and view options for visibility of your device, searching and renaming devices.
  3. Tap Rename my device and tap inside the Change phone name field that appears.
  4. Type a new name and tap the OK button.
    The new name appears under the Visible to All setting.
Note: When not using Bluetooth, you can quickly access the Bluetooth control in the utility tray by swiping down from the top of your home screen.

How do I control cellular and data connections and settings?

Enable or disable your data connection by using the settings application.

  1. Tap Settings App (small) and choose Cellular & Data.

    Carrier, data, roaming, and advanced settings information will appear.
  2. Enable or disable your data connection and data roaming settings by toggling.
The data network appears under Data Connection when enabled.
Tip: Use the Cost Control application to check your data usage and to set notifications when you reach low levels.

How do I customize sound and vibration settings?

You enable or disable sounds and ring tones on Firefox OS using the Settings app.

  1. Tap the Settings app and choose Sound.

    The follwing settings will appear: vibrate, volume, ringtones, keypad, camera and unlock function.

  2. Scroll to control ringer, notification and alarm volumes. Use the circle buttons to enable or disable.
  3. Tap Change to change the ringtone.
  4. Tap a ringtone and select Done.
    The new ringtone is now selected.
Tip: Tap a ringtone in the list to hear the sound.

How do I control brightness manually or automatically?

Adjust screen brightness by using the display function in the settings application.

  1. Tap the Settings app and choose Display.

    Wallpaper, screen timeout and brightness settings appear.
  2. Tap the Adjust automatically radio button to use the brightness slider.
    The screen brightness changes to match the new setting.
Tip: Enable Adjust automatically to have Firefox OS set brightness for power savings.

How do I change the wallpaper on the lock screen and home screen?

Change the wallpaper by either tap and holding on the home screen or by using the settings application.

  1. Tap the Settings app and choose Display.

    Wallpaper, screen timeout and brightness settings appear.
  2. Tap the wallpaper image.
    3 options will appear: Wallpaper, Gallery and Camera.
    Tap Wallpaper to select from the default set of wallpapers.
    Tap Gallery to select from your pictures.
    Tap Camera take a new picture to set as your wallpaper.
  3. Select the wallpaper you want to use or take a new picture.
    The new wallpaper appears on the home screen and lock screen.
Note: The lock screen and home screen use the same wallpaper.
Tip: You can add photos to your gallery from your computer by using a microSD card.

How do I change the default language?

Firefox OS is available in the following languages: Arabic, Deutch, Greek, English, Espanol, Francais, Norsk, Italiano, Protugues (do Brasil), RUssian, Turkish, Japanese

Change the language on Firefox OS using the Settings application.

  1. Tap the Settings app and choose Language.

    The language chooser appears.
  2. Tap the drop-down menu to display the list of available languages.
    The language list appears with a checkmark next to the current language.
  3. Tap the language you want to use and then tap OK.
    The new language setting is saved.

Change the keyboard type and sounds on Firefox OS using the Settings app.

  1. Tap the Settings app and choose Keyboard.

    The Keyboard sound, vibration, layout and word suggestion settings appear.
  2. Choose the keyboard feedback and type by enabling the checkmark radio buttons.
    The keyboard settings are saved.
  3. Tap the language you want to use and then tap OK.
Tip: To enable all capitals on the keyboard, double-tap the caps lock. tap and hold a key for alternates or accented characters.

How do I scroll the list of open apps from my home screen?

Find the list of running apps using the Home button on your phone.

  1. Press and hold the Home button on your phone to open the Firefox OS task switcher.

    A thumbnail of the last opened app appears with the name of the app.
  2. Swipe left across the thumbnail to view the thumbnail for each running app.

How do I view Notifications?

Notifications appear at the top of your home screen with a numeral to indicate how many notifications you have. Notifications may also appear on your lock screen, if enabled in your Settings.

Access and clear notifications on Firefox OS using the utility tray, as follows.

  1. Swipe down from the top of your home screen to open the utility tray.

    Notifications appear in a list with an icon for the type of notification and the duration of time since the notification appeared.
  2. Tap the notification to view the details or take an action.
    The appropriate app appears and the notification is cleared from the list.
Note: To clear all notifications, tap the Clear All button in the upper-right of the utility tray.

How do I view phone information?

Find information about your phone on Firefox OS using the Settings app.

  1. Tap the Settings app and choose Device Information.

    The model, software version information appears.
  2. Scroll down to find information about your rights, privacy and legal information.
  3. Tap the More Information button to find build , MAC address, and Developer information.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap the Developer button.
