Closing multiple tabs is something that Firefox warns users about.
As an example Right click on a tab choose the option to Close other tabs. You may be annoyed if suddenly loads of open tabs disappear, they may have important things in them that you are working on. Firefox provides a friendly warning with the option to cancel or continue.
Advanced users may however see this as an unnecessary time consuming warning. Firefox as usual has a solution. As an advanced user you may already be familiar with the prefs and the use of about:config.
Hot Topic Note this is something that is affecting Firefox 16 users. You may just wish to wait for changes that are expected to be introduced in Firefox 18 expected to be released in December (for date see).
Can't wait, want it now OK so depending on when you read this you will need the Aurora or Beta channel version of Firefox. You need Firefox 17 Beta 4 or later.
Once downloaded and installed there is a preference that you may change
