This article describes how to customize the way you see web pages by choosing your preferred font styles and colors.
Changing Font
To change the font:
- In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click and select (select on older macOS versions).Click the menu button
and select .
- Select the panel.
- Under Fonts & Colors, use the drop-down menus to select the font and font size of your choice.
- Close the page. Any changes you've made will automatically be saved.
Custom Fonts
Some websites have custom fonts, to disable them:
- In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click and select (select on older macOS versions).Click the menu button
and select .
- Select the panel.
- Under Fonts & Colors, click the
button. - In the window that opens uncheck the box next to Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above.
- Click to close the Fonts window.
- Close the page. Any changes you've made will automatically be saved.
Change Font Color
To change the font color:
- In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click and select (select on older macOS versions).Click the menu button
and select .
- Select the panel.
- Under Fonts & Colors, click the button.
- Clicking on any of the colored rectangles will show you the possible colors you can choose from. Select the color you want by clicking one of the colored rectangles.
- Click to close the Colors window.
- Close the page. Any changes you've made will automatically be saved.
Note: If you later want to restore the default colors:
- Type about:config in the address bar and press EnterReturn.
A warning page may appear. Click to go to the about:config page. - Enter browser*color in the Search field
- Right-clickHold down the Control key while you click on the user set preferences.
- Select Reset.
Custom Font Color

- Select the panel.
- Under Fonts & Colors, click the button.
- In the window that opens, set Override the colors specified by the page with my selections above to
. - Click to close the Colors window.
- Close the page. Any changes you've made will automatically be saved.
Zoom
Firefox also includes a Zoom. This allows you to increase the size of text on any web page. For instructions, see Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages.
